On Sept. 25, police responded to the Iron Skillet Restaurant at the Petro Truck Stop on a report of someone walking out of the restaurant without paying his bill, police said.
Security at Petro told police that Mr. Theriault also had walked out without paying a bill on Sept. 17, police said.
The total amount for the Sept. 25 bill was $19.56, police said. Mr. Theriault said he believed his girlfriend had paid the bill when he walked out, according to police.
When police officers spoke with Erin Toupin, Mr. Theriault’s girlfriend, she said that Mr. Theriault told her he would pay the bill, police said.
A waitress at the truck stop identified Mr. Theriault as the man who did not pay his bill on Sept. 17 for the amount of $21.81, police said.
Police said that when Mr. Theriault was searched at the Bordentown police station, a bill from Sept. 21 for the Iron Skillet was found in his right sneaker, and indicated that he had not paid his bill.
Mr. Theriault was released and given a court date, police said.
On Sept. 25, Patrolman Mark Costner met with an arcade machine technician at the Pilot Truck Stop who informed him that between Sept. 21 and Sept. 24, six arcade machines were forcibly entered and money was stolen, police said.
Police reports stated that the six arcade games broken into were Deer Hunter, Cruisin’ USA, Maximum Force, NFL Blitz, Golden Tee 2K and Ms. Pacman.
The arcade technician told police that $600 in quarters was stolen from the machines, and that repairs to the damaged machines would cost $400, police said.
A check of the area did not reveal any physical evidence or suspects, police said.
On Sept. 27, a silver 1987 Nissan Maxima was pulled over at a mobile DMV inspection station set up at police headquarters because of a fake inspection sticker, police said.
Patrolman Richard Crowell went to assist Detective Brian Pesce on the motor vehicle stop, police said. Two small plastic bags of crack cocaine were found in the car after checking a compartment for the identification of the driver, police said.
Darrick Smith, 25, of Trenton was charged with possession of suspected crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute, police said.
Anthony Wright, 27, of Trenton was charged with obstruction of justice and having outstanding warrants, police said.
Both men were transported to the station and processed, police said. Mr. Smith’s bail was set at $7,500, and he was sent to the Burlington County Jail, police said.
Mr. Wright was charged with obstruction of justice because he gave Dennis Wright as his name when asked by officers, police said. Mr. Wright’s bail was set at $2,500, and he was turned over to Middlesex County for outstanding warrants, police said.
