It is hard to get by on just a Social Security check and small pension. Everything seems to be going up. Sometimes it scares me to think about what will happen in the next four years.
The other day I sat down with Bob Mack, our deputy mayor of Hillsborough, and told him how afraid I was. He explained the different sections of my tax bill he’s a good teacher. I saw the school part, county part and township part.
He explained that the Board of Education is responsible for the school tax. One way to keep the school part controlled was not to build more houses. The Hillsborough Democrats have taken more land and found the money to buy it and keep it for parks and things, that way houses won’t be built and the township will have more green.
He also told me how the Township Committee was putting controls in place to keep costs down and looking for grant money.
I like Bob Mack, he made me feel less afraid about the future. I am voting for Bob Mack and hope all seniors will too.
