The Hopewell Borough Public Works Department will not be picking up brush after October 31. At that time the truck will be converted for use in leaf collection.
There is no set schedule for leaf collection. Leaf crews will make one pass through the entire town ending on Broad Street at which time they will start the process over again. This will continue until about the end of February or early March.
Residents are asked not to contaminate leaf piles with non-organic materials. Do not hide sticks or brush under leaf piles (they can plug up the hose causing unnecessary delays and down-time).
Residents are asked to rake their leaves into rows or piles along the side of the curb and not into the street. Those who have a lawn service for their yards should share this information with them.
Leaf crews do not have time to pick through and straighten out leaf piles and will leave problem piles behind.
Brush pickup will resume in January when crews begin to pick up Christmas trees or after bad storms that cause a lot of damage to trees.
Those with questions should call 466-0168.
