Phil Petrone helping to organize charity’s event

Borough Clerk Phil Petrone is helping to plan the March of Dimes North Jersey annual Casino Night event, which raises money to help lifesaving mission of improving the lives of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality.
Mr. Petrone was named to the organization’s Casino Night Committee, which will plan the event scheduled for Nov. 9 at the Somerville Elks Lodge on Union Avenue in Bridgewater.
Highlights of the event include, gaming with celebrity dealers, Tumbling Dice tables, and feasting on the Elks Club fine cuisine. More than 100 guests will be in attendance in an effort to raise a goal of $30,000 to support the March of Dimes.
In addition, the following Somerset County based businesses have committed their support to this year’s Casino Night: Century Tub; Classic Cuts; Fleet Bank; Reddington Classics; Re-Max Preferred Professionals; Mercal LLC; Raritan Plaza with many more to come.
"Each year in America, 150,000 babies born are born with birth defects," said Marti Dileo. "When people contribute to Casino Night, they play an important role in helping to change that number. The money we raise supports March of Dimes programs that study how gene therapy can prevent birth defects, encourage women to get prenatal care, and educate the public about folic acid, the B vitamin that helps prevent serious birth defects of the brain and spinal cord."
