Scouts thankful for car wash support

LEDGER FORUM

On behalf of Boy Scout Troop 27, which is chartered to Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church, we would like to thank everyone who participated in the recent Scout car wash. This activity was organized in response to the Sept. 11 tragedy and the collected money has been sent to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
Special thanks are extended to the Church of St. Ann; the Lawrence Township Senior Center; William Guhl, Lawrence Township manager; Mayor Pam Mount; Donald Proffit, Lawrence High School principal; students of Lawrence High School; Beau Hitchcock, director of maintenance for Lawrence Township Board of Education; Marty and Beverly Wolfgang; Dunkin’ Donuts, Lawrence Road; Varsity Pizza; Amalfi Cuisine; Boy Scout Troop 28; Cub Scout Pack 28; and an anonymous couple who brought cookies and sodas to re-energize the car washers.
The overwhelming generosity and caring of citizens allowed the Boy Scouts to send more than $8,200 to the Disaster Relief Fund of the American Red Cross.
In this tragedy we learned that we all can join together and cooperate in an effort to help to do what needs to be done. A car wash has never had such heart and soul! We have come to realize that we are all the American spirit.
