Bright Kids necklaces offered for Halloween

PLAINSBORO — As part of "Operation Bright Kids for Halloween," the Township Police Department will be distributing glow-in-the-dark necklaces to trick-or-treating youngsters Wednesday.
For the second consecutive year, Bristol-Myers Squibb, located on Scudders Mill Road, is providing more than 1,000 necklaces for police distribution, police said.
The program is designed to promote pedestrian safety by making children more visible to motorists and also provides more interaction between patrol officers and neighborhood parents and children, police said.
Necklaces are only available for Plainsboro Township residents and will be given out starting at 5 p.m. at marked patrol cars throughout the township, while supplies last. A small number also will be available at police headquarters.
