Beatrice Surman Dockiewicz, 88, died Friday, Dec. 14, at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold.
She was born in Sayreville and lived there, and later resided in Michigan for six years before moving to Monroe seven months ago.
Before her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress for 30 years with Brodsky and Sons Clothing in South River.
She was a member of the Union of Polish Women Group 81. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus R.C. Church in Sayreville and a member of the church’s Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Sayreville St. Stan’s Seniors Club, the Sayreville Senior Citizens Wednesday Club, and was a former cook at Our Lady of Victories convent in Sayreville.
Her husband, Parl P. Dockiewicz, died in 1985.
She is survived by a son, James of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughters, Doris Bailey of Monroe and Carol Baniowski of Plymouth, Mich.; a sister, Charlotte Herbst of Sayreville; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 17, at Maliszewski Memorial Home in Sayreville, followed by a Mass at St. Stanislaus R.C. Church in Sayreville. A burial followed at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
