The Hazlet Youth Athletic League will be holding registrations for its 2002 baseball/softball season for boys ages 5-18 and girls ages 5-16. Registration dates are Jan. 9, 16 and 23 from 7-9 p.m. at the Middle School cafeteria, and Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to noon at the HYAL clubhouse. Registration fees, which includes a $25 raffle book donation, are as follows: boys and girls 5-12, $100 per child.

A separate work deposit check of $150 dated April 1 is also required. Birth date cutoffs are as follows: boys, July 31, 2002; and the new date for girls is Dec. 31, 2001.

The St. Catherine Athletic Association will be holding sign-ups for its spring recreational basketball league. The league will have a boys and girls division and will be open to children from third through eighth grades. The sign-ups will be held Saturdays mornings from 10 a.m. to noon, and Wednesday nights from 6-8 p.m. at the St. Catherine gym on Shore Acres Drive (off Bray Ave) in Middletown through Feb. 13.

GoodSports at Aberdeen is offering the following tournaments and events: roller hockey tournament, Jan. 19 for U-10, U-12 and men; Jan. 20 for U-14 and U-17; youth instructional roller hockey starting Jan. 3 and running for seven weeks; youth roller hockey camp, Dec. 26-28, U-10 9 a.m.-noon and U-12, 1-4 p.m. each day; indoor flag football league Monday nights; one- day soccer tournaments for U-8-U-15 boys and girls; youth travel 5-on-5 league starting Jan. 26-27 for U-9-U-14 boys and girls; and Richie Williams Elite Training Camp, Dec. 26-28 for boys and girls ages 11 and up.

The Monmouth County Park System will sponsor a bus trip to Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, on Dec. 30 to see the New York Jets take on the Buffalo Bills in an American Football Conference Eastern Division game.

The bus will depart from Thompson Park, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, at 10:15 a.m. Cost of the trip is $95 per person and includes ticket and round-trip transportation. Preregistration is required. Call (732) 842-4000 for additional information.
