Letter to the editor
To the editor:
Every year for the past 23 years I have made a Christmas trip to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. This year’s trip will be especially rewarding and emotional. It will be my last trip. I have been bringing toys and smiles to the children of CHOP, but I could not have done it alone. I have had the support of so many people. They have donated their time, their money and a little piece of their lives to bring joy to sick children.
This year I would like to thank Ruth Hunt and all the employees at Interpool, Apco Petroleum, Chamberlain Tile, Haldeman Ford of Hightstown, Dave’s Pub in Twin Rivers, Francis Chung of Little Szechuan Restaurant in West Windsor, Hamilton Township PBA Local 66, Chief and Mrs. Dick Taylor of Hamilton Township police, Chief Paul Krycho of Washington Township police, Chief and Mrs. Kevin Hopkins of Hightstown police, Chicken Holiday of Foxmoor and my good friends, Paul Shalita, David Herzfeld, Beverly Schectman, Frank and Melinda Sciarotta, Dianne Kiggins and Vivien Karosutus.
And so today, as we dress ourselves in our Santa suits, I would like to give a very special thanks to everyone past and present for the continued support, love and ability to make a sick child laugh. These children of CHOP need to feel that there is hope and lots of love from not just their families, but from all of us who hope that we will never need the special care that CHOP has been providing for our children.
God bless all of my elves and Santa’s. I love you all.
