Umberto "Bert" Roberto, 70, died Saturday, Dec. 29, at his residence.
Born in Princeton, he lived in Princeton until 1974 when he moved to Lawrence.
He retired in 1997 as owner of Hinkson’s office supply in Princeton, which he owned since 1960. He was a member of the Princeton Italian-American Sportsman Club and a member of Roma Eterna Society.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Marines, he served on the aircraft carrier USS Wasp.
Son of the late Andrea and Ermilina, he is survived by his wife, Rosemary Freda Roberto of Lawrence; two sons and daughters-in-law, John T. And Rosanna of Hamilton, Scott and Kristin of Lawrence; one sister, Albrina Mangone of Princeton; five grandchildren, Thomas, Andrew, Tyler, Lauren, and Lindsey; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at St. Paul’s Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton.
Family and friends are invited to come to the funeral home at 8:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
