Common sense, apology are needed from councilman

As usual, the Independent has accurately reported the facts. I am specifically referring to the article entitled "Panel Rescinds Censure, Approves New Ethics Law." The article indicated a Holmdel Township censure, now rescinded, was passed by a four-to-one vote because Terence Wall violated the township’s ethical standards by releasing confidential information regarding the former Nike site off Telegraph Hill Road. (The censure also dealt with alleged harassment incidents.) The article stated: "[Mr.] Wall has publicly admitted releasing a document that was marked confidential in July" that dealt with the issue regarding the Nike site.

The article goes on to quote Wall: "Obviously, the charges were false and the bipartisan vote is proof positive." Whom are you kidding, Wall?

I agree with the mayor, Art Davey, and others who say for the good of the town, it is time to move on. However, this denial by Wall should not go unnoticed. Not only does he not show any remorse for releasing confidential information (regardless of his good intentions), Wall now says he never did it. Well, Wall, you did it and in order to properly move on, you should apologize for releasing confidential information.

We do not need any more rhetoric from you on this issue; what we need from you is just some common sense — an apology is still in order.
