Orientation program
Bordentown Regional High School is holding a 2002-2003 school year orientation program for parents of incoming ninth graders, 7 p.m., Jan. 10 at the high school auditorium. This program is designed to acquaint parents with the academic, athletic and co-curricular offerings at the school, and to familiarize them with the mechanics and timelines of the scheduling process.
Parents of prospective students are invited to attend and are encouraged to bring their children. For more information, contact Mr. D’Antoni, 298-0025, Ext. 1102.
Soccer games
Beginning Jan. 12 friendly pick-up soccer games will be held 2 p.m. every Saturday at Veterans Field (new field near Florence Municipal Building). All are welcome coaches, parents, referees, etc. For more information contact Don Lewis, 499-3446 or Greg Perri Jr., 499-1691.
Casino trip
The Knights of Columbus 570 is sponsoring a trip on Jan. 13 to the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City for a four hour stay. Bus will leave from Bordentown at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $15 per person. Each person will receive $13 in coins. For reservations call Bob, 298-5530.
Internet safety
Peter Muschal School PTA is hosting an Internet Safety presentation, 7 p.m., Jan. 15 at the Bordentown Regional High School auditorium. The presentation is aimed at parents protecting their children from the dangers of the Internet. This is for adults only. The presentation is given by the High Tech Crimes Unit of the New Jersey State Police.
Casino trip
The Bordentown Township Senior Citizens Club is sponsoring a trip to the Bally Casino in Atlantic City on Jan. 15. For more details call 298-4396.
Book group
The book group will meet 8 p.m., Jan. 16, at By the Book, 150 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown to discuss "Northanger Abbey" by Jane Austen. All are welcome. For more information call 298-3334.
Senior Citizens
Club
Bordentown Township Senior Citizens Club meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month at the Senior Citizens Community Center, Municipal Drive. Doors open at 11 a.m., meetings start at 1 p.m. Township residents aged 55 and over are welcome.
Line dancing every Wednesday, 10 to 11 a.m. Dance motivation (exercise) classes every Friday, 11 a.m. to noon.
Quilts for Kids
The Quilts for Kids sewing group meets every fourth Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bordentown Presbyterian Church fellowship hall on Farnsworth Avenue. All are welcome. The group makes machine-sewn quilts for sick and abused children. Fabric is provided. Clean, pressed 100 percent cotton fabric, crib size batting and thread donations accepted. Bring your own machine.
Hall of Fame
Nominations for the 2001-2002 Bordentown Regional High School Hall of Fame are currently being accepted. Applications may be obtained from the main office at the high school or on-line at: www.bordentown.k12.nj.us, click on "Athletic Hall of Fame." Memorial trees
The Bordentown Shade Tree Committee has established a Memorial Tree Program. Program brochures can be picked up at App’s Hardware Store, 377 Farnsworth Avenue and By the Book at U & I Gifts, 150 Farnsworth Avenue.
Toastmasters

The Silver Tongues chapter of Toastmasters meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of every month at the Londonshire Restaurant, Route 130, Burlington.
