Reorganization meeting slated for Jan. 17
The Keyport Republican Club will hold its annual reorganization meeting Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, Third Street, Keyport.
Officers for 2002 are: Robert L. Hyer, president; Bob Burlew, first vice president; Jay Biaginti, second vice president; Anette Kovacs, treasurer; and Marge Hanson, corresponding secretary. The club is currently seeking an individual to fill the post of recording secretary.
Executive board members are John Merla, Helen Keeler, Hazel Feick and Mary Allen.

Seamanship and boating
skills class offered
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 24, Keyport, will offer a six-lesson course on "Boating Skills and Seamanship" Feb. 19 from 7-9 p.m. The course will run Tuesday evenings and will be held at Keyport High School, 351 Broad St.
Topics covered include equipping a boat, trailering a boat, highway signs, how to handle a boat, and general rules. The course meets the New Jersey state requirements to apply for a PWC/Jetski license.

MSEP to offer cooking classes on Saturdays
The nonprofit Matawan Student Enrichment Program, Lloyd Road, Aberdeen, will offer three cooking courses in its Saturday sessions that begin Feb. 2.
"Cooking for Fun" for children in grades K-2 will be taught by Keyport chef Ruth Ann Butland. She will also teach "Cooking as Easy as 1-2-3!" for children in grade 3 and up.
"Cake Decorating and Candy Making" for children in grades 3 and up will be taught by Deborah Hrabinski.
Mail-in registration will be held Jan. 24, and in-person registration is Jan. 26 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Lloyd Road School. For more information, call (732) 566-7900.
Monmouth Players to offer comedy, auditions
The Monmouth Players, Red Bank, will present the romantic comedy Crossing Delancey Feb. 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 and 23 at 8:15 p.m.; and Feb. 3 and 17 at 2:30 p.m.
Cost is $10 and $8 for seniors and students. Performances will be at the Navesink Library theater, Sears and Monmouth avenues, Navesink section of Middletown. Reservations are required.
Auditions for the Neil Simon comedy Barefoot in the Park will be held at the library Feb. 4 and 6 at 8 p.m. Needed are two females age 20-50; and four men age 25-60. All roles are open.
