SOLEBURY The Township Board of Supervisors took on a little bit of a new look at its reorganization meeting Monday night, and it also took on a new member.
The board selected William Tinsman as its chairman with Stephen Phillips as vice chairman, and it also welcomed John Eichert as its newest member.
"I’m very looking forward to serving this year," Mr. Tinsman said. "I have an unwavering commitment as far as environmental conservation and open space preservation (are concerned)."
Mr. Tinsman heads up a board that is very similar to last year’s board with the exception of Mr. Eichert, who replaced Robert Byrne. J. Peter Grover, the former vice chairman, remains on the board as does Thomas Caracio.
Gretchen Rice remains secretary-treasurer. The board retained Stephen Harris as township solicitor and named Terry Clemons as special solicitor for special instances and exclusive solicitor for land preservation. Albert Cepparulo was named as another special solicitor.
Most positions in township government unchanged with Edward Dubois as zoning officer and building inspector; Dudley Rice as director of parks and recreation; Barbara Drew as land preservation administrator; and Robert Williams as township engineer. Robert Glenn once again will be Road Department foreman.
The board also adopted an ordinance naming Tax Collector Alice Betts as delinquent tax collector, and appointed Christine Hale and Michael Murphy to the Board of Auditors.
The supervisors also took on other duties. Mr. Caracio was chosen as police commissioner for the third year, and Mr. Grover was chosen as road liaison. Mr. Caracio also will serve as liaison to the Land Preservation Committee. Mr. Phillips will act in that capacity with the Central Bucks Planning Commission with Mr. Tinsman as an alternate.
