Girl Scouts

   Town and Country Community Girl Scout leaders meeting, 7 p.m., Feb. 14 at John Hydock School in Columbus.
Softball registration

   The Florence Township Girls Softball Association is having walk-in registration from 9 a.m. to noon, Feb. 16 in the front conference room of the Florence municipal building, 711 Broad Street, Florence. Registration is open for girls of all ages residing or attending schools in Florence Township. For more information contact Tom McCue, 499-4186.
Breakfast

   The Holy Name Society of Holy Assumption Parish will hold its all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., Feb. 17 at McGrath Hall adjacent to the school. Menu includes eggs, home fries, sausage, and pancakes. Cost for adults is $4, seniors (65 and older) $3, children (6-12) $2, and children under five are free.
Garden club

   The Florence Garden Club’s next meeting is at 7 p.m., Feb. 18 in the community room of the Florence municipal complex. All members and those interested in joining are invited.
Back-to-school night

   Bordentown Regional High School will hold its spring semester back-to-school night 7 p.m., Feb. 20. Parents will have the opportunity to meet teachers and become informed about the courses their child is taking. Book groups

   The classics book group will discuss "House of the Seven Gables" by Nathaniel Hawthorne, 8 p.m., Feb. 20. The popular book group will discuss "The Family Orchard" by Naomi Eve, 8 p.m., Feb. 27. Both groups will meet at the home of Bobbie Taylor, 357 Prince St.
Book signing

   Emily Weinstein will be signing her book, "Moon Book" and newly released, "Cat Book" 7 to 9 p.m., Feb. 22 at By the Book, 150 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown. She will also be giving a talk on the development of Cat Book and will demonstrate how to do a monoprint. Anyone interested in having a pet model contact Arlene Bice, 298-3334.
Fish dinner

   St. Mary’s PTA is sponsoring its third annual fish dinner, 4:30 to 8 p.m., Feb. 22 in the school hall at 30 Elizabeth Street, Bordentown. Menu includes lightly breaded baked flounder, baked macaroni and cheese, Caesar salad, cole slaw, and beverages. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Takeouts are available. Tickets may be purchased at the rectory or by calling Cathy, 291-9204, or Tricia, 298-5719. Tickets will not be sold after Feb. 17 or at the door.
   Hedding Methodist Church will hold their annual roast beef supper on Feb. 23 with seatings at 5 and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Reservation necessary by calling (609) 324-0729. Profits from the supper benefit the mission program of the church.
Guest speaker

   Convention speaker and writer, Alicia Britt Chole, will be the guest speaker 10 a.m., Feb. 24 at the Fountain of Life Center, 2035 Columbus Road, Florence Township. The public is invited. Admission is free. For more information call (609) 499-2131.

   The deadline for filing nominating petitions to run for position on the Northern Burlington County Regional Board of Education is 4 p.m., Feb. 25. The election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16.
