MARIETTA, Ga. Joseph Gabanski died Tuesday, Feb. 5. He was 87.
Born in Baczal Goray, Poland, he came to Manville in 1952.
He worked as a tool room keeper and grinder for 12 years at Johns-Manville Corp., retiring in 1978. Upon retiring he was a reflector operator.
He was a member of the J-M Quarter Century Club.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville, and a member of the Pulaski Patriotic Club.
He was a veteran of the Polish army, having served as a radio operator.
His wife, Maria (Sido) Gabanski, died in 1988.
Surviving are one daughter, Helena Miehe of Marietta; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 9 at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, Manville, followed by a Funeral Liturgy in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church.
Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hillsborough.
