E.B. temple to join in
nationwide Shabbat
Temple B’nai Shalom, Fern and Old Stage roads, East Brunswick, will take part in Shabbat Across America and Canada on March 8 with a service at beginning at 7 p.m. followed by a dinner at 8:15 p.m.
The temple will be one of approximately 750 synagogues across the continent to open its doors to practicing and non-practicing Jews alike so that they may join together to experience a traditional Shabbat service and festive meal. Led by Rabbi Eric Milgrim and Cantor Claire Franco, participants at Temple B’nai Shalom will join in a "Friday Night Live" service and Shabbat dinner with all the rituals explained.
The event, which is sponsored by the National Jewish Outreach Program, represents a united effort by Judaism’s four major movements to revitalize Sabbath observance. Participants will be brought together to eat, drink, relax, dance and celebrate.
All ages are welcome. The entire Jewish community is invited.
Cost is $10 per person, $5 per child. Reservation deadline is March 1. Checks should be made payable to Temple B’nai Shalom.

Livingston Theater Co.
will present ‘Carnival’
The Livingston Theater Company, Rutgers University, will present the musical Carnival at 8 p.m. on March 7 and 8, 2 and 8 p.m. on March 9 and 4 p.m. on March 10 in the Livingston Student Center, College Hall, 84 Joyce Kilmer Ave., Piscataway.

Old Bridge theater group
will stage ‘Wizard of Oz’
The Theatre Guild of Old Bridge will perform the musical The Wizard of Oz at 2 p.m. on March 2, 3, 9 and 10 at Old Bridge High School east campus, Route 516 and Cottrell Road.
Tickets cost $10 for adults, $7 for students under age 12, $5 for senior citizens over age 62.
