Martha Musial Gwozdziewicz, 90, of Monroe, died Monday, March 18, at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in Nanticoke, Pa., she had resided in South River for 65 years before moving to Monroe in 1997.
Before her retirement in 1976, she was employed as a seamstress for 30 years with South River Waist & Dress Company in South River.
Mrs. Gwozdziewicz was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and a communicant of St. Mary’s R.C. Church in South River, where she was a member of the Rosary Society.
Her husband, Joseph, died in 1990.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Buckelew of Monroe; her sons, Joseph Gwozdziewicz of East Brunswick and Robert Gwozdziewicz of Allentown; her brother, Anthony Musial of Effort, Pa.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 8:30 a.m. Friday, March 22 (today), at Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave., South River, followed by a 9 a.m. Mass at St. Mary’s R.C. Church in South River. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Brunswick.
