UPDATE: Zoning board puts off Westerly Road application until May

Officials blamed scheduling conflicts for the delay.

It looks like the Zoning Board of Adjustment won’t make a decision on Westerly Road Church until at least May.
The board decided Wednesday to continue the congregation’s application for a use variance to build a new church on the site of the historic John Feaster Phillips House until May 8.
Zoning officials blamed scheduling conflicts for the delay.
The decision came after the church had completed its testimony and a real estate expert and a planner, hired by neighbors who object to the application, also had testified.
