Harry Naar

   Harry A. Naar, 84, of Clearbrook, died Monday, March 25, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel.
   Born in New Brunswick, Mr. Naar resided in North Brunswick before moving to East Brunswick in 1980. In June of last year, he moved to Clearbrook.
   Mr. Naar attended Drake Business School and Rutgers University, both in New Brunswick. He was employed for many years as a salesman by East Brunswick Lumber Co. He also was the owner of Park Sweet Shop in Highland Park for many years. Before retiring in 1988, he worked for Johns’ Uniforms in New Brunswick.
   During World War II, Mr. Naar served aboard the destroyer USS Dashiell in the Pacific, attaining the rank of first class petty officer.
   His parents, Albert and Allegra Naar, son, Elliot H. Naar, daughter, Anita Naar-Gold and sister, Clair Naar-Glatt are deceased.
   Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Alice Benzilio Naar; a son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Judy Naar of East Brunswick; his sister, Annette Pavon of Monroe; his brothers, Sam of Monroe and Leon of Boynton Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 26, at Congregation Etz Ahaim in Highland Park, with Rabbi David Bassous officiating. Interment followed at Elmwood Cemetery in New Brunswick. Arrangements were by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel in New Brunswick.
