Nominees are now being sought for the Monmouth County Historical Commission’s Preservation Award program, now in its second year. The program is designed to recognize the efforts and achievements of county residents and organizations that have contributed to the promotion and preservation of Monmouth County history.
Eligible to receive the award are individuals, organizations and municipalities that have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments and built an environment important to the preservation of history. Any recipient of a preservation grant from the commission is ineligible. Nomination deadline is April 17.
Nominations may be submitted by prospective nominees, a member of the public, a governmental body or by commission members. The honorees will be selected by the commission after a review of all applications, and a remembrance will be presented at a meeting of the historical commission.
