Lambertville

   Daniel Miles, 25, of Juniper Row, Princeton, was charged with hindering apprehension April 3 after an incident March 6.
   Police said Mr. Miles was stopped March 6 for failure to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Route 518 and Quarry Street. At that time, he gave police his brother’s name and date of birth, claiming he didn’t have the vehicle registration and other paperwork with him, police said.
   Mr. Miles told police this week he had been driving while on the suspended list in March. He was afraid if police found out, his mother’s car, which he was driving at that time, would be towed.
   Mr. Miles also was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to exhibit a driver’s license and driving an unregistered vehicle. He turned himself into police shortly before 10 p.m. April 3.
   He was released without bail.
   Someone stole a fishing net valued at $850 from Lewis Island.
   Fred Lewis, 86, of 1 Lewis Island, told police the net, which was used to haul shad, had been left on the ground next to the fish house on the island around noon March 30. It was discovered missing around 3 p.m. the following day.
   The 85-yard-long net was black with wooden corks the entire length.
   Daniel Paul Grebb, 18, of Lansdale, Pa., was arrested March 28 and charged with have a plastic bag of marijuana under 50 grams and a pipe in his possession.
   Mr. Grebb was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped shortly before midnight for driving erratically on Route 29 southbound, police said.
   He was released without bail.
   April 4 at about 1 a.m., Aaron Webb, 24, of Ringoes was charged with drunken driving.
   Police said they saw his vehicle turn left, heading west onto Coryell Street (a one-way street) off North Franklin Street. Mr. Webb was stopped on Route 29.
   He also was charged with driving the wrong way on a one-way street. He was released without bail to his brother.
   April 5 at about 5:15 p.m., Lee Hofstetter, 35, of Lambertville was charged with drunken driving.
   Police said they were in the parking lot of S&B Petroleum and saw a pickup truck driving slowly through the stop sign at Route 518 at the intersection of Quarry Street.
   Police said it was weaving within its lane on Route 179. Mr. Hofstetter was stopped on Church Street.
   A search of the pickup revealed a six-pack of an alcoholic beverage behind the driver’s seat, with one missing, police said.
   Mr. Hofstetter also was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign. He was released without bail to his wife.
   Sunday, March 31, an 18-year-old Lambertville man reported he was traveling on North Main Street when he was waved over by Eric Williams, 37, of Lambertville, in the area of York Street.
   Mr. Williams offered the victim cash to take him to Ewing Township, police said. The victim agreed.
   While en route, the victim realized he didn’t have time to take Mr. Williams and be back in time for work and said he wanted to turn around, police said. Mr. Williams then allegedly brandished a handgun and ordered the victim to continue driving. The victim said Mr. Williams forced him to drive to Trenton where he allegedly purchased crack cocaine. He then returned to Lambertville, unharmed, and dropped Mr. Williams off, police said.
   Mr. Williams later was charged with kidnapping and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was taken to Hunterdon County Jail in lieu of $15,000 full cash bail.
   A Bethlehem, Pa., man was charged with drunken driving April 7.
   Jeremy P. Henning, 22, was stopped for speeding shortly before 2 a.m., doing 38 mph on Bridge Street, then accelerating to 55 mph on Route 165, police said. He was stopped near Weeden Street.
   He also was charged for having fictitious tags, failure to stop for an emergency vehicle, speeding and failure to show proof of insurance.
   He was released without bail.
   A blue canvas bag containing various medical supplies, termed a "fanny pack," was found and turned over to police April 7.
   The owner can claim it by calling police during a weekday at 397-3132.
New Hope

   Matthew Roman Orosz, 19, of South Main St., New Hope, and Elijah Beale, 19, of South Main Street, Lambertville, were charged March 24 with various offenses after allegedly throwing cinder blocks onto the road after climbing a fire escape on the east side of the PNC Bank building.
   They were arrested at 11 p.m. on the third floor patio area above Starbucks Coffee House located at the intersection of Main and Bridge streets.
   Police found broken cinder in the middle of the intersection.
   Both were charged with reckless endangerment, propulsion of missiles onto a roadway, criminal trespass, underage drinking and disorderly conduct.
   No one was injured, and no vehicles were damaged during the incident.
   A South Main St. restaurant was burglarized sometime March 28.
   The owner said he forgot to secure the deadbolt whereby the thieves gained access through the rear door, police said. Taken was an undetermined amount of cash.
   A purse was stolen from a Trenton resident while she shopped at Staples on Route 179 March 28, police said.
   The theft occurred from the victim’s shopping cart sometime around 12:45 p.m., police said. Also taken was the victim’s credit cards, cell phone and house keys.
   Shawn Patrick Dunlap, 35, of North Main St., Lambertville, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the Wawa on Route 179.
   Wawa personnel said he was passed out behind the wheel in the truck delivery lane and believed he required medical assistance, police said.
   The Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad was called but were not needed after police determined he was under the influence of alcohol. He was taken to Doylestown Hospital where he submitted to a test to determine his alcohol level. Charges are pending, police said.
   Brian K. Harper, 30, of Chalfont, Pa., was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving March 29 shortly before midnight.
   Police said he was stopped on Route 179 after they saw him following another vehicle too closely and then traveling 67 mph in a 35 mph zone.
   He was arrested and taken to Doylestown Hospital for a blood test before being released. Charges are pending.
   Alfred L. Bonomolo, 66, of Princeton Junction was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving at 5:21 p.m. March 31 after he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign at New Street and Riverwoods Drive.
   He was transported to Doylestown Hospital for a blood test. Charges are pending.
   Joshua Klastow, 26, of Carversville, Pa., was stopped April 3 on Route 179 in the Wawa parking lot after police timed his vehicle traveling 55 mph in a 35 mph zone.
   He was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and taken to Doylestown Hospital for a blood test. Charges are pending.
   Police said he will be charged with a prohibited offensive weapons violation after they found a switchblade on him while they searched him.
Princeton

   Lloyd E. Houser, 69, of Lambertville was found dead outside a Westcott Roadhouse April 11.
   An autopsy Friday revealed Mr. Houser died of a heart attack, said Lt. John Reading.
   Police said Mr. Houser, an employee of Princeton Pool and Patio on Alexander Street, was sent to the residence to work on a pool pump electrical system and failed to return to work. Employees went to the residence and found Mr. Houser dead next to the pool pump area at the rear of the house, police said.
   The employees initially thought Mr. Houser was electrocuted as his tools were attached to the pool pump, and the power was on, police said. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at The Medical Center at Princeton, police said.
