NEW HOPE Emily Miller Redman of New Hope, recently of Doylestown, died Sunday, April 14.
Born in Oakland, Calif., she is the daughter of the late Frederick and Frances Cox Cherry and widow of Graham Ryde Redman, who died in 1966.
Mrs. Redman lived in Jutland, N.J., and in Rockville Center, N.Y. She graduated from South Side High School in Rockville Center in 1946 and Adelphi College in Garden City, N.Y., in 1950.
She received her master’s of science degree in library sciences in 1952 from Columbia University. She worked for Curtis Publishing in New York City during the 1950s. She was the school librarian for nine years at Buckingham Friends School.
She was a 35-year volunteer of the Bucks County Chapter of the American Red Cross where she was a one-time disaster chairman. She was a longtime member of Trinity Church in Solebury and a member of the Vestry Service Committee, Trinity Travelers and church library staff.
Mrs. Redman was past president of the Phillips Mill Art Committee, Photographic Committee and Drama Department Backstage.
She was a volunteer at the New Hope-Solebury Library and a past chairperson for Bucks County United Way.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Peter E. and Susan Redman of Newtown, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Frances R. and John S. Kennedy of Quakertown; a nephew, Jeffrey Cherry of Idaho; and a niece, Shelanne Hunt of Nevada.
The funeral was held April 18 at the church. Burial followed in the parish cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home Inc., Doylestown.

EAST RANDOLPH, Vt. Dr. Henry Dantzig, 85, died Sunday, April 14, at Gifford Medical Center.
Dr. Dantzig was born in the Bronx, the son of M. Meyer and Mizzie Matuszak Dantzig. He grew up in the Bronx and Manhattan, moving to Eldridge Park, N.J., in 1926 and graduated from Trenton High School,
He graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. and received his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical college in Philadelphia. He served his internship at McKinley Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Dr. Dantzig was a flight surgeon in the Army during World War II. He was married to Josephine Felten, Sept. 6, 1941. They were divorced in 1959, and she died in 1983. He was married to Lyn Moussette-Hurley in Ossopee, N.H., Aug. 6, 1961. She died October 2001. He lived many years in Pennsylvania, was a former resident of Lambertville and moved to East Randolph in 1979.
Dr. Dantzig was licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Vermont and also was certified as a hypnotic therapist. He had been certified by the Federal Aviation Administration to give flight medical exams.
He wrote two books, "How to Put More Life Into Your Living" and "Chameleon" and wrote for various medical journals. An avid vegetable gardener and car collector, he loved music and was a violinist.
Survivors include his sons, Henry Dantzig Jr. of Perkasie, Pa., and Terry Clare Dantzig of Solebury, Pa; a daughter, Carla Chandler of Washington, DC; five stepchildren; six nieces and two nephews. Besides his wives, he was predeceased by a brother, Leon Dantzig, and stepsister, Frita Homeyer.
The funeral was held Friday at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Randolph Center with Pastor Russell Rohloff, officiating. Burial followed at the cemetery.

FLEMINGTON George P. Oraschin, 86, of Flemington died Monday, April 15, at the Briarleaf Care Center, Doylestown, Pa.
Born in Cherryville, Mr. Oraschin was a lifelong resident of the Flemington area.
He was a farmer and worked in various areas of agriculture. He was a service representative for the John Deere Company. He also was employed in the feed and grain business before retiring several years ago.
Mr. Oraschin was a motorcycle enthusiast.
He was the widower of Helen Etling Oraschin, the son of the late Joseph and Anna J. Wrba Oraschin and the brother of the late Joseph, Matthew and William Oraschin.
Surviving are his two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Lou Reside of Yardley, Pa.; and Theresa and Johannes Nielsen of West Amwell; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Karen Etling of Ashville, Ohio; a brother, Charles Oraschin of South Branch, N.J.; and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Tuesday at the Van Horn McDonough Funeral Home, Lambertville. The Rev. William H. Jacobsen, pastor of the Titusville Methodist Church, officiated. Burial followed at the Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery, Delaware Township.

WEST AMWELL A. Carolyn Lear of West Amwell, 80, died Tuesday, April 16, at home.
Born in Trenton, she lived in Titusville before moving to Wrightstown, N.J., in 1983 and West Amwell in 2000.
She retired from the Titusville Post Office.
She was the widow of Francis Lear, mother-in-law of the late Robert Doron and Robert Gorish and sister of the late William and Charles Young and Isabelle Gallagher.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Gorish of West Amwell and Jane Doron of Hopewell Township; a sister, Mary Juraniec of Delaware; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Friday at Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt. Burial was in Titusville Methodist Cemetery.

KINGWOOD Myrtle Mae Rittenhouse, 88, died Thursday, April 18, at home.
Born in Neshanic, she lived most of her life in Kingwood.
She was a homemaker.
Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hoagland and widow of Wilson Rittenhouse, she is survived by four sons, James Rittenhouse of Stockton, William Rittenhouse of Kingwood, John Rittenhouse of Lambertville and Robert Rittenhouse of Frenchtown; and a granddaughter, Christina Rittenhouse of Lambertville.
Graveside service was private.

HAMILTON William F. Mihok, 72, died Friday, April 19, at home.
Born in Lambertville, he lived most of his life in Yardville.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He retired from U.S. Steel Corp. where he worked more than 35 years. He was a member of the U.S. Steel bowling team and was fond of animals and birds.
Brother of the late John Mihok, he is survived by his wife, Wilma Aaronson Mihok; a son and daughter-in-law, William Paul and Lisa Mihok of Levittown, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Jeffrey Tesauro of Groveville; two brothers, David Mihok of Waretown and Frank Mihok of Trenton; a sister, Betty Thompson of Antioch, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Michele, Daniel, Kevin, Brian and Katelin; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Wednesday at Huber-Moore Funeral Home, Bordentown, with Deacon Neil Pirozzi officiating. Burial was in Columbus Cemetery.

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP Charles Joseph Barger, 82, died Monday, April 8, at The Masonic Home of New Jersey.
Born in Philadelphia, he lived most of his life in Trenton and Forked River.
Mr. Barger retired in 1988 after 10 years with the state and had worked many years with United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 31.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 7-10 for 35 years where he was appointed coxswain. He was vice commander of Flotilla 60, Third Coast Guard District, for one term.
Mr. Barger was a master mason with Masonic Gothic Lodge 270 and a member of the Bordentown Elks, Forked River Elks, Lacey Lodge 2518 and Forked River Fish Hawks.
Father of the late Gary Barger, he is survived by his wife, Gladys Stout Barger; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Roger and Judy Barger of Montrose, Colo., and Jody Barger of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Dennis Niederer of Titusville and Diane and Thomas Molnar of New Hope; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at the Chapel of The Masonic Home of New Jersey.

DELAWARE Jeff L. Grohe, 57, died Sunday, April 21, at University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born in Orange, he lived in the Wayne and Clifton areas before moving to Delaware Township 21 years ago.
He graduated from Wayne High School and was a former member and altar boy at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, Clifton.
He owned and was head chef at Towne House Restaurant in Lambertville from 1973 to 1983.
He was a member of Wayne 4-H Club, Lambertville Kiwanis Club, Union Fire Co., Lambertville, and St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Lambertville.
Son of the late Joseph, he is survived by his mother, Virginia Lawrence Grohe of Delaware; his wife, Lois Horant Grohe; a son, Robert D. of Delaware; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerard and Patricia Grohe of Newtown, Pa.; a nephew, Christian Grohe of Newtown; and other nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held today (April 25) at 9:30 a.m. from Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville. a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Cremation will follow.
NEW HOPE Donald J. Holmes, 53, of New Hope died Friday, April 19, at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown, Pa.
He is the son of Joseph Holmes of Hatboro, Pa., and the late Laura Lukens Holmes.
Mr. Holmes graduated from Temple University in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He was administrative director, appointed trustee and a member of the board of directors of Walker Memorial Training Center, Philadelphia, since 1974.
Besides his father, surviving are his partner, Robert J. Brennan of New Hope; a sister, Patricia DuPree of Hatboro; and several nieces and nephews.
A service was held Monday at Leaver-Cable Funeral Home, Buckingham, Pa. A funeral mass followed at St. Martin of Tours Church, Solebury. Burial was in the church cemetery.
