Arthur V. Van Horn
Retired electrician at university
   FAIRFAX, Va. — Arthur V. Van Horn died April 20 at Fairfax Nursing Center.
   Born in South Amboy, he was raised in Princeton and was a Princeton resident until moving to Fairfax in 1999.
   He was an electrician at Princeton University for 41 years.
   He was a member of American Legion Post 76 and Mercer Engine Co. No. 3.
   Brother of the late Howard W. Van Horn Jr., he is survived by his wife, Mary C. Van Horn; daughter and son-in-law Constance G. and Edward J. Lacey; grandsons Kevin and Ryan Lacey; and nephew James H. Van Horn.
   A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. today at Everly Funeral Home, 10565 Main St., Fairfax.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad Inc., 237 N. Harrison St., Princeton, NJ 08540.
Alice F. Asbury
Longtime Princeton resident
   Alice F. Asbury of Princeton died April 25 at Princeton Nursing Home. She was 91.
   Born in England, she was a resident of Princeton since 1952.
   She was a self-employed seamstress.
   She is survived by her husband of 57 years, David Asbury; daughters Linda Schwarz of Princeton, and Geraldine Gercak and Marjorie Asbury, both of Hurricane, Utah; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
   Arrangements are by Kimble Funeral Home, Princeton.
Leroy B. Smith
Worked for Princeton Township
   Leroy B. Smith of Princeton Township died Friday at The Medical Center at Princeton. He was 83.
   Born in Tillman, S.C., he was a longtime Princeton resident.
   He was employed by Princeton Township for many years before retiring.
   He attended Savannah, Ga., schools, was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 218.
   Son of the late Lee Benson and Rose B. Smith, he is survived by his companion and caretaker, Ida Brown; brother and sister-in-law Melvin and Mary Smith of Philadelphia; sisters Mamie Benson, Doris Benson and Areatha Griffin; and many nieces and nephews.
   The funeral was Thursday at Campbell Funeral Home, Trenton.
Eliseo Tamasi
Brother, sister live here
   ISERNIA, Italy — Eliseo Tamasi died April 24 after a long illness. He was 76.
   Born in Pettoranello, Italy, he lived in Isernia since 1968.
   Mr. Tamasi retired as an inspector in the unemployment division of the Italian government.
   In 1980, he was awarded the title of "Cavaliere della Repubblica Italiano" by the president of Italy, Sandro Pertini.
   He was a member of the Princeton Pettoranello Sister City in Italy and was past president. He was also a counselor of Tour Club Italiano since 1963 and recently received a certificate of merit for his support of the tour club through the years.
   He was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening.
   Son of the late Nicola and Elvina Palumbo Tamasi, he is survived by his wife, Lina Visco Tamasi; daughters and son-in-law Elisabetta and Bruno Lasserre of Pettoranello and Francesca Tamasi of Isernia; sister and brother-in-law Vincenza and Ginefrico Pirone of Princeton; brother and sister-in-law Dominick and Adele Tamasi of Montgomery; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
   A memorial mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton.
   Arrangements are by Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, Princeton.
Robert L. McCormick Jr.
Son lives in Montgomery
   GLEN ELLYN, Ill. — Robert L. McCormick Jr. died Sunday. He was 76.
   Born in Philadelphia, he grew up in Trenton, moving to Hatboro, Pa., in 1950 and Cranford in 1960. He was a resident of Glen Ellyn since 1975.
   He was a sales executive in the chemical coatings industry, working for M&T Chemicals in Rahway and Martin Varnish Co. in Chicago.
   A graduate of Hamilton High School, he received a bachelor’s degree from Temple University in 1949.
   He was an Army rifle instructor during World War II.
   He was a 50-year member of Melita Lodge No 295, F&AM, Philadelphia; Medina Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S., Chicago; and Apollo Commandery No. 001, Knights Templar, Wheaton, Ill.
   He was a bagpiper with the Medina Highlanders Pipes & Drums band, Chicago; a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, Temple University; and a member of the Chemical Coaters Association of America.
   He was past president of the Cranford Boys Baseball League, and an active supporter of the Cranford Hockey Club.
   Son of the late Robert L. McCormick Sr. and Lelah Cowell McCormick, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jane Gehres McCormick; sons and daughters-in-law David L. McCormick and Marion B. Adler of Oak Park, Ill.; Peter L. and Patricia J. McCormick of Montgomery; Robert L. III and Linda P. McCormick of Charlotte, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law Susan L. McCormick Snider and I. John Snider of North Muskegon, Ill.; and grandchildren Colleen P. McCormick and Erin K. McCormick of Montgomery, Michael J. McCormick of Oak Park, Ill., Elizabeth G. Snider, Margaret C. Snider and I. John Snider IV of North Muskegon, Mich., and Catherine A. McCormick and Andrew L. McCormick of Charlotte, N.C.
   The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Glen Ellyn, Ill.
   Burial will be at Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, Ill.
   Visiting hours are 4 to 8 p.m. today at Leonard Memorial Home, Glen Ellyn, Ill.
