As director of the Shore Regional High School music program, I’d like to sincerely thank each and every person who attended last week’s Board of Education meeting and showed their support of the arts at Shore Regional.
It was truly heartwarming to see how many people care about our program. From graduates to parents to current students, for more than two hours, speaker after speaker came to the microphone and spoke eloquently about the difference the arts makes in our lives. I’m sure the board will take all it heard that night under careful advisement, and it will arrive at a thoughtful and wise decision.
I’d also like to praise The Hub for showing the journalistic integrity to cover an important local matter, and to present it in a fair and evenhanded light. It’s a shame other local newspapers ignored such an important and ultimately positive event.
