WEST WINDSOR Carole Carson and Paul Murphy were recently elected directors of Friends of West Windsor Open Space to serve the remainder of recently vacated three-year terms.
As West Windsor’s last mayor, Ms. Carson spearheaded the township’s acquisition of much of the 1,500 acres that have now been set aside as open space. Prior to her four-year term as mayor, Ms. Carson served on the West Windsor Township Council. She has been the administrator of the West Windsor Parking Authority and has served on the board of the West Windsor Little League and on numerous other school and community committees. She is administrator and finance manager of Lucar Hardware, a family business managed by her husband, Tom.
Mr. Murphy, a 28-year resident of West Windsor, has spent most of those years commuting to New York City as a marketing research and strategic planning executive for several major companies. He now maintains his own marketing consulting practice based in West Windsor. Mr. Murphy has served on the West Windsor Postal Committee and the Republican Municipal Committee and has been a director of several area arts organizations.
As a FOWWOS director, Mr. Murphy will head its marketing programs, intended to familiarize residents with the organization’s work and get them involved in its preservation activities.
