Ten Princeton University students had to be taken for medical treatment for intoxication this past weekend — Houseparties weekend at the Prospect Avenue eating clubs.
Princeton Borough police responded to four calls for medical transport. The Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad took three students to The Medical Center at Princeton and one to the Capital Health System Fuld Campus in Trenton, police said.
In addition, university Department of Public Safety officers transported four students to the McCosh Health Center and two others to The Medical Center at Princeton, university spokeswoman Marilyn Marks said.
In all, six females and four males were involved.
Public safety officials believe the number of transports was comparable to other years, Ms. Marks said.
Borough Police Capt. Anthony Federico said police usually handle one or two medical transports due to intoxication a week.
An annual event held by the 11 eating clubs, Houseparties celebrates the end of classes for the year. The weekend involves three days of partying at each of the clubs and ends on Sunday, the day before reading period, when students study for final exams.
