Ferol Oertel

   Ferol White Oertel, 85, died Saturday, May 4, at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick.
   She was born in Piscatawaytown (presently Edison) and lived in East Brunswick for 47 years. She moved to Monroe in 1999.
   She worked for 43 years at CIT Group (formerly CIT Financial Services) in Edison, before retiring in 1979 as an office manager. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in East Brunswick, where she served on the Worship Committee. She was a past chair of the church’s Flower Committee. Along with her husband, she was an attendance recorder for many years at the church until September 2000. She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in New Brunswick. She was a member of East Brunswick Women’s Club, a preceptor of Alpha-Epsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, and a volunteer at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge for 16 years. She was also a member of the hospital.
   Four brothers, David, Frank, Bert and Robert White, and a sister, Doris Gray, are deceased.
   Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Ralph W. Oertel; three brothers, Howard of West Virginia, Norman of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Dale of Live Oak, Fla.; and two sisters, Marie Flanagan of East Brunswick and Emma Himey of Monroe.
   Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 8, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, followed by burial at Old Tennent Cemetery in Manalapan.
