Information needed

   Information is needed to locate the descendants of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Ayres and Miss Elizabeth Ayres, residents of Bordentown in December, 1904, who may have been related to the Harold B. Chinese auction

   St. Mary’s PTA is sponsoring a Chinese auction May 10. Doors open at 6 p.m., auction begins at 8 p.m. Admission of $5 includes free sheet of tickets, dessert, and coffee and tea. For more information call Tricia, 298-5719 after 6 p.m.
Iris festival

   The Downtown Bordentown Association is holding its 6th annual Iris Festival, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 11 along Farnsworth Avenue and Walnut Street, Bordentown City. The festival features more than 100 artists and the accomplishments of Frank Carr, award winning iris hybridizer. For more information call Jackie Reed, 499-4410.
Prayer breakfast

   A men’s prayer breakfast will be held at the Shiloh Baptist Church, Bordentown, on Saturday, May 11 at 9 a.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Vincent H. Bell choir

   The following is the schedule of events for the Bordentown Township Senior Club for May. May 13: Craft class from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; May 14: Anniversary senior dinner; May 15: Free computer class; May 18: Birthday dinner (Anita Harvey, entertainer); May 20: Senior meeting, doors open at 11 a.m. (no speaker); May 21: Atlantic City trip; May 22: Free compute class Basic/Online review.
Spring revival

   The Shiloh Baptist Church of Bordentown, will hold its annual spring revival May 12 through May 17. Service begins 7 p.m. each day. A guest pastor and congregation will worship each evening. The public is welcome.
Monthly sale

   The Trinity United Methodist Church, 339 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown will hold their monthly sale May 17, 9 a.m. until noon, and May 18-19 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Featured this month are dress patterns and fabric, stuffed animals, and picture frames.
Trash and treasure

Players needed

   The Bordentown Community Soccer Association currently is registering players for the upcoming fall recreational soccer season. In-person registrations will be held on Wednesday, May 15 from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to noon and Saturday, June 1 from 9 a.m. to noon. All in-person registrations will be held at Friendship Field. The Under 12 girls travel team for the fall will have open tryouts for all girls born between Aug. 1, 1990 through July 31, 1991. Tryouts will be held on May 2,3,9,10,16 and 17 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Friendship Field. For information, e-mail [email protected]
Roundtable discussion

   The Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions, a statewide non-profit organization promoting a healthy environment in the state’s 566 municipalities, invites residents to attend the second of its 2002 "Urban Roundtable" sessions. This forum of local officials, educators, civic leaders, environmentalists and concerned citizens will meet to discuss protecting the environment in our cities and developed communities. The event will be held May 18 from 9 a.m. to noon in the senior citizen room of the Carslake Community Center, 211 Crosswicks St. in Bordentown City. Street fair

   The 25th Annual Street Fair will be held in Bordentown City on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Farnsworth Avenue.
   There will be arts, crafts and merchants and over 150 of the finest juried artists and crafters from the tri-state area & Farnsworth Avenue Merchants. There will be music, food and a quilt square competition. Walnut Street will have a moon walk, pony rides, face painting, a demonstration by the Green Dragon Karate School and more. Farnsworth Avenue will have cartoon characters, Wiz, school soloists. Free admission and plenty of free parking.
Bake sale

   The Rosary Alter Society of St. Mary’s Church in Bordentown will hold a bake sale at the street fair on May 18, at the corner of Crosswicks Street and Second Street. All Rosarians are asked to bring their baked goods at 9:30 a.m.
Soccer club

   Tryouts for the Northern Burlington Travel Soccer Club girls and boys teams for the 2002-2003 season will be held May 18 and May 30 at 6 p.m. in Chesterfield Township behind the municipal building on Route 528. Benefit concert

   The Chesterfield Public Education Fund will host a benefit concert featuring "Trout Fishing in America," 3 and 7 p.m., May 18 at Northern Burlington County Regional High School, Columbus. For more information or to order tickets call 298-8705.
Tennis lessons

   The United States Professional Tennis Association’s (USPTA) "Tennis Across America" program is free to the public 10 a.m., May 18 at the Chesterfield Township Municipal tennis courts. The event features an instructional tennis clinic for beginners and advanced players. USPTA is a non-profit organization promoting tennis as a means of exercise and fun. Ham dinner

   Trinity United Methodist Church, 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown is having a buffet-style ham dinner on June 1 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The cost for adults to get in is $9.50 per person, children 6-12 are $4 and children under five get in for free. A take-out dinner is $10. For tickets, call 298-2346 or the church office at 298-0158. On the menu is ham, potato salad with or without onions, baked beans, cole slaw, baked macaroni and cheese, Harvard beets, applesauce, rolls, dessert and beverages.
Class reunion

   The Class of 1957 of William MacFarland High School in Bordentown has scheduled its 45th class reunion on June 29. The committee has been unable to locate the following classmates: David Brown, Fred Holloway, Dick Lister, Mary Green Richardson, David Seindel, and Dawn Lakatis Thompson.
