The Sayreville Stampede U15 hockey team won the winter league at Center Circle in Rahway, going a perfect 13-0. Leading the team in scoring was Brian Knettles (22 goals and 10 assists), followed by Ray Holmes (19 goals and 18 assists), Eric Hornecker (17 goals and 10 assists) and Cody Smith (12 goals and 5 assists). Other players included Chris Epstein and Alex Ohanon. The team was coached by Bob Holmes.
The Kevin Boyle Basketball Camp, headed by Kevin Boyle, the head coach of St. Patrick’s High School in Elizabeth, will again be holding four sessions of camp this summer. The camp is for boys and girls, ages 7-16, beginner to advanced. The first session will be held June 24-28; the second, July 15-19; the third, Aug. 5-9; and the fourth, Aug. 12-16. The centrally located site will be A.L. Johnson High School in Clark, which is easily-accessible off Exit 135 of the Garden State Parkway (about 20 minutes from the Brunswick area). The Old Bridge Raptors boys’ U9 travel soccer team took first place in the Monroe Spring Soccer Tournament. The Raptors went 3-0, beating the Manalapan Cyclones, Parsippany Wolves and the Highland Lighting. The players are Sean Breen, Danielle Colaprico, Yousef El Hussieni, John Fowler, Kerry Glynn, Anthony Jichetti, Keith Kraus, Kaitlyn Lancelot, Billy Majeski, Nicholas Rojewski, Doug Ruby, Zachary Ryan, Shekar Shah and Mike Shannon. The Raptors are coached by Tim Ryan, Jim Colaprico and Jay Kraus.
