JAMES ("JIM") A. AMEND, 69, of Colts Neck died July 5 at Bayshore Hospital, Holmdel, after a short illness. He was vice president of Amend Publishing, Shrewsbury, the past 10 years. He was responsible for the production of the Colts Neck Calendar, The Holmdel Happenings, The Lincroft Village News, and other newspapers in three local communities. Prior to that he worked at AT&T Corp., Parsippany; Exxon Enterprises, Branch-burg; and Reliance Engineering, Florham Park. He began his career at Lavoie Laboratories, Morganville, where he contributed his engineering skills to projects including Navy and Army communications, power and radar equipment. He recently attended Port Monmouth Church, Port Monmouth section of Middletown. Prior to that, he was a dedicated member and deacon at the First Baptist Church, Wall Township. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, nephews, nieces and "adopted" grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters, Dorthea Kulcsar Kreismer and Susie Petrizilka. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia "Ginny" A. Amend of Colts Neck; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Andrew Walsh of Middletown, Peggy Amend and Robert Buschman of Atlanta, and Jane and Michael Klefas of Lakewood, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Port Monmouth Church. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to Bayshore Community Hospital, 727 N. Beers St., Holmdel 07733.

DONALD E. DONNELLY, 72, of Hazlet died July 6 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Hazlet, he lived in the Bronx, N.Y., prior to moving to Hazlet 35 years ago. Before he retired, he was a trucking supervisor for 25 years. He was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by a brother, Vincent Donnelly of Westwood; two daughters, Marianne Caruso of Hazlet, and Jeanne Mirchin of Winston-Salem, N.C.; five sons, Donald Donnelly Jr. of Hazlet, Michael Donnelly of Brielle, Hugh Donnelly of Hazlet, Kevin Donnelly of Freehold and Christopher Donnelly of Middletown; and 12 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered July 10 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Interment will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

ELIZABETH S. KOCSIS, 91, of Keyport died July 3 at New Jersey Eastern Star, Bridgewater. Born in North Tonawanda, N.Y., she lived in Buffalo, N.Y., prior to moving to Keyport 24 years ago. She was employed at the National Association of Manufacturers, New York, retiring in 1968. She was involved with the American Red Cross, Niagara City, N.Y., and was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 100, Somerville. She was predeceased by her husband, Emery Kocsis in 1992; and her brothers, Nicholas, John and Casper Steingasser. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Randolph of Merritt Island, Fla.; her sister, Rose V. Hird of Somerville; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Interment was at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.

JEFFREY E. SISS, 44, of Shaker Heights, Ohio, and formerly of Matawan, died June 14 after injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Pennsylvania. Born in Long Branch, he lived in Matawan and Los Angeles before moving to Shaker Heights in 2001. He was an associate project director at the architectural firm, van Dijk Westlake Reed Leskosky, Cleveland, Ohio. He oversaw projects such as the Notre Dame College of Ohio addition, and the Western Reserve Academy Administration Building. Prior to that, he worked at New York and California architectural firms and participated in projects such as City at 42nd Street Redevelopment Plan, the New York Library System master plan, Glendale City Center, the Disney Employee Center, and actor Chuck Norris’ guest residence. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and former member of First Lutheran Church, Northridge, Calif. He was a graduate of Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, N.Y. His activities included serving as a coach and referee for Shaker Youth Soccer Association, golf soccer and sailing. He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Watts, and daughter, Marina E. Siss, both of Shaker Heights; his parents, Doris E. Deede of West Caldwell, and Dr. Richard Siss, Milford, Pa.; his brother, Glenn R. Siss of Randolph; and his sister, Leslie J. White of Morristown. A memorial service will be July 27 at 3 p.m. at The Unitarian Church, Summit. Memorial donations may be made to the Marina E. ALPHONSINA L. "VINCIE" PASSARIELLO SAVEROCK, 89, of the Belford section of Middletown died June 27 at Holmdel Convalescent Center. Born in Roselle Park, she lived in Avenel prior to moving to Belford in 1984. She was a seamstress at ILGWU for 55 years, retiring in 1969. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She as predeceased by her husband of 28 years, John Saverock in 1984; her first husband of 18 years, Richard P. Anzivino in 1953; a sister, Josephine Marino; and two brothers, Pasquale Passariello and Dominick Passariello. She is survived by two sons, Richard P. Anzivino Jr. of Belford, and Anthony Saverock of Hazlet; her brother, Lawrence Passariello of Roselle; four sisters, Philomena Minnie Dinino of Westfield, Louise Mazzeo of Cranford, Antoinette Mitchelli of Delray Beach, Fla., and Jessica Babe Toomajan of Linden; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. Burial was at St. James Cemetery, Woodbridge. PATRICIA J. DREDGER, 68, of Howell died June 27 at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York City. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved to The Villages, Howell, in 1997. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Henry; two sons, Scott of Cranbury and Glenn of Middletown; a sister, Judith Lamberti of Florida; and four grandchildren. Interment took place at Brig. EMIL O. KIRSTEN, 89, of Matawan died June 27 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Germany, he moved to the United States in 1961 and resided in the West Keansburg section of Hazlet and Bloomfield prior to moving to Matawan. He was a molder for 18 years, retiring in 1981. His activities included playing the banjo, and membership in the Club 60, Matawan, and the Berliner Club, Union. He was predeceased by his son, Karl Heinz Kirsten in 1945. He is survived by his wife, Anna Weidemann-Kirsten of Matawan; his daughter and son-in-law, Renate and Paul Palmeri of Atlantic Highlands; two granddaughters; and two great-grandsons. Burial was at Marlboro Cemetery Mausoleum, Marlboro.

JEAN P. SHARESHIAN, 69, of Middletown died June 27 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in North Bergen, she relocated to Middletown in 1967. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Shareshian in 1985; and her brother, Eugene Ernest. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Jennie Shareshian of Middletown, with whom she lived; David and Eva Shareshian of Jackson; Alan and Lisa Shareshian of Bridgewater; and Paul and Susan Shareshian of Jackson; her daughter, Lynn Shareshian at home in Middletown; six grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and her niece. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

JOANNE McKEE, 47, of the Lincroft section of Middletown died June 28 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. She was born in South Amboy. She was a technician for Radio Frequency Systems, Marlboro, for 17 years. She was predeceased by her mother, Patricia Kuntne. She is survived by her father, John Keating of Union Beach; two brothers, Walter Keating of Howell, and Michael Keating of Union Beach; and two sisters, Patricia Marciniak of Union Beach, and Barbara Mason of Howell. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
