Monroe synagogue sets open house for Aug. 18
Congregation Etz Chaim-Monroe Township Jewish Center, 11 Cornell Ave., will hold its annual open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 18.

Buckelew Day festival
scheduled for Aug. 17
The Jamesburg Historical Association will host its annual Buckelew Day celebration from 1-4 p.m. on Aug. 17 on the grounds of the Buckelew mansion, 203 Buckelew Ave., Jamesburg. The event will celebrate the birthday of James Buckelew, founder of Jamesburg.
The day will feature guided tours of the Buckelew mansion; live music by the Jim Sturtevant Dixieland Jazz Band; craft and blacksmithing demonstrations; the 11th Virginia Civil War re-enactors; and a model railroad depicting Jamesburg as a railroad town at the turn of the century. A children’s balloon slide will be available for a minimal charge.
Admission is free. Food and refreshments will be available.

‘Millionaire’ TV show
Free tickets to the television program Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, hosted by Meredith Vieira, are available for Sept. 3-5, 17-19, Oct. 1-3 and numerous dates through the end of the year.

Tickets should be received approximately three weeks prior to the date of the show. Attendees must be 18 years of age or older. Identification will be required.
