Dr. Edward Closson Jr.

   LAMBERTVILLE — Dr. Edward W. Closson, 87, died Sunday, Aug. 11, at his home.
   Born and raised in Lambertville, Dr. Closson moved to the Wynnewood section of Philadelphia in the early 1950s and back to Lambertville in 1977.
   He was a graduate of Cornell University and Temple Medical School. He was a general surgeon and served his residency at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia.
   After his retirement from surgery, Dr. Closson served as medical director of Simpson House in Philadelphia.
   He was a member of the Philadelphia County Medical Society and a fellow member of American College of Surgeons. He was an associate professor at Thomas Jefferson University.
   Dr. Closson served in the Navy as a medical officer on a troop carrier in the South Pacific during World War II.
   He was a member of Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club. He was a charter member of the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead Museum, Delaware Township.
   Son of the late Dr. Edward W. Closson Sr. and Gertrude Ely Closson and brother of the late Gervas E. Closson, he is survived by his wife, Polly Baitinge5r Closson; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Catherine Closson of Medford and Edward W. III and Debbie Closson of Lambertville; a granddaughter, Jessica Closson; and a grandson, Andrew Closson.
   A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. today (Aug. 15) at the Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private.

Armando Agnoli

   LANGHORNE, Pa. — Armando Agnoli, 54, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, at home.
   Born in Rome, he lived in Trenton 24 years before moving to Langhorne.
   Mr. Agnoli owned La Terrazza restaurant in New Hope five years and previously owned Roma Antica restaurant in Washington Crossing five years until 1998.
   He had been an upholsterer in the Trenton area many years.
   He was a member of the Neopolitan Society of Trenton and Trenton Italian National Club.
   Son of the late Rizziero and Virginia Riccardi Agnoli and brother of the late Mario Agnoli, he is survived by his wife, Antonella Mondello Agnoli; a daughter, Sabrina G. Agnoli at home; a stepson and his wife, Dr. Marc A. and Diane Cozzarin of New Hope; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Adriana and Evan Pilaris of Langhorne and Lea and William Scanlan of New Hope; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tonino and Rossana Agnoli and Bruno and Manuela Agnoli of Rome; five grandchildren, Alexandra and Isabella Cozzarin, Antonella Pilaris, Thomas and Alessia Scanlan; and many nieces and nephews.
   The funeral was held Saturday from Brenna Funeral Home, Trenton. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joachim Church, Trenton. Entombment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Hamilton.
Judith Blazek

   COLUMBUS, Ohio — Judith Ann Clark Blazek, 61, died Saturday, July 6, at St. Anne’s Hospital in Westerville.
   Born in Lambertville, she was raised in Trenton and Mercerville and lived in Columbus 30 years.
   She graduated from Cathedral High School, Trenton, and was a member of St. James the Less Catholic Church, Columbus.
   She worked in real estate several years.
   Daughter of the late Beatrice Gorman Clark and Thomas J. Clark Sr., sister of the late Glenda and John A. Clark and widow of Robert Blazek, she is survived by her children, Edward Blazek and Shawna, Robert and Cheryl Blazek, Christine Blazek and Carol and Kenneth Gearhart, all of Columbus, and Katherine Blazek of Missouri; six brothers, Thomas Clark and Dolores Dilullo of Willingboro, N.J., James and Kristine Clark of Chesterfield, N.J., Timothy and Carolyn Clark of Charleston, S.C., Donald and Carol Clark of Miami Shores, Fla., Michael Clark and Monica Riely of Falls Church, Va., and David and Karen Clark of Pennington; two sisters, Kathleen and Paul Sergeant of Cream Ridge, N.J., and Ellen and Christopher Rankin of Hamilton Square, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; and other relatives.
   A Mass of Christian Burial was held July 11 at the church. Burial was in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Westerville.

James Brophy

   TRENTON — James A. Brophy, 63, died Sunday, Aug. 11, at Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown, Pa.
   Born in Washington, D.C., he lived in Trenton more than 50 years.
   He retired in 1993 after more than 29 years as a machine operator for General Motors Corp., Ewing.
   He graduated from Trenton High School in 1958. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union.
   He was an usher at Blessed Sacrament Church.
   He was a Marine Corps veteran.
   Son of the late James V. and brother of the late Frank and Joseph, he is survived by his mother, Elinore Brophy of Trenton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Matthew F. and Sharon Brophy of Trenton, Mark A. Brophy of Trenton and Patricia Brophy of Stockton; seven sisters and four brothers-in-law, Mary Anne and Jack Miller, Ellen Hargraves and Joan P. Brophy, all of Hamilton, Kathleen and Nicholas Tackacs of Ewing, Jane and Bruce Thompson of Lambertville, Julia Brophy of Hamilton and Anastasia and Russell Snyder of Yardley, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.
   The funeral was held Wednesday from M. William Murphy Funeral Home, Hamilton. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the church. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton.
