JANIS MAE CONOVER, 56, of Freehold died Aug. 7 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Long Branch, she had lived in Millstone and Asbury Park before moving to Freehold. Ms. Conover was a store manager at Lechter’s in Freehold Raceway Mall, Freehold Township, until she became disabled. She was a graduate of Allentown High School and a lifelong member of St. James A.M.E. Church, Manalapan, where she was a stewardess and missionary. She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer L. Adams of Freehold and Stephanie A. Jackson of Long Branch; a brother, Carl A. Conover of Lakewood; four sisters, Gladys Thompkins, Ella Frazer and Evelyn Joseph, all of Lakewood, and Sandra A. Conover of Freehold; and four grandchildren. Interment took place at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.
