BURLINGTON CITY Henry P. Luning Jr., 54, died Aug. 8 at home.
Born in Binghamton, N.Y., he was a longtime Bordentown-area resident.
Mr. Luning retired as a captain with the state Department of Corrections, having worked at the New Jersey State Prison in Trenton.
He was a Marine Corps veteran and member of the Fraternal Order of Police and American Legion Post 26 of Bordentown.
Son of the late Lydia Engstler Luning, he is survived by his wife, Bonnie Roller Luning, and two daughters, Amber and Alyssa Luning, all of East Windsor; his father, Henry P. Luning Sr. of Bordentown; a brother, Philip Luning, and a sister, Karen Payson, of Copake Lake, N.Y.; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial service was Monday at Hartmann Funeral Home of Bordentown.
Private cremation services were held. Burial was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
