RANDY M. BROWN, 43, a longtime resident of South River, died suddenly Aug. 22 at his home. He was predeceased by his father, Robert A. Brown. He is survived by his mother, Mary Brown of South River, and his brother, Garry Brown, also of South River. Cremation took place privately Monday.
BARBARA J. ALLEN, 70, of East Brunswick died Aug. 27 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1997, she was a clerk for the Middlesex County Board of Elections, New Brunswick, where she worked for 13 years. Her husband, William, died in 1978. Surviving are three daughters, Barbara Allen of New York City, Patricia Allen of South River and Mary Allen DeWoolf of East Brunswick; two sons, William of Howell and John of New York City; her mother, Helen Burnham of Hempstead, N.Y.; two brothers, Thomas Burnham of Vermont and William Burnham of Long Island, N.Y.; two sisters, Nancy Imperio of Staten Island, N.Y., and Janet Burnham of New York City; and three grandchildren. Services are planned for 10 a.m. on Aug. 30 at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Cremation will be private. JOSEPH ANTONE, 62, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Aug. 21 at home. Surviving are his wife, Carol VanSickel Antone; a son, Joseph Antone of Sayreville; a daughter, Leah Kloc of East Brunswick; a stepdaughter, Amanda Miller of Parlin; a stepson, Nathan Miller of Connecticut; a brother, Jerome Antone of Parlin; and two grandchildren. A service was held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, Md. GERTRUDE A. NIELSON EKLUND, 69, of Spotswood, formerly of Old Bridge, died Aug. 20 in Meadowview Care Center, Spotswood. Her husband, Eric E., died in 1985, and a son, Karl, died in 2002. Surviving are a son, Carole Shortlidge of Old Bridge; a daughter-in-law, Colleen Eklund of Manalapan; and two grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge.
CHARLES HEYLER JR., 69, of Old Bridge died Aug. 24 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. A son, Richard Heyler, died in August. Surviving are his wife, Irene Moran Heyler; a son, Charles A. Heyler III of Old Bridge; a daughter, Irene Keaveney of Helmetta; a sister, Lorraine Healey of Syracuse, N.Y.; his mother, Anna Heyler, also of Syracuse; a grandson; and many nieces and nephews. JOHN F. HYDRUSKO, 74, of South River died Aug. 24 in Old Bridge Manor. His wife, Margaret, died in 1977. Surviving are a son, Ronald of South River; two daughters, Cynthia Campbell of Spotswood and Teena Hydrusko of South River; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson. NAOMI DeCOTA, 78, of Old Bridge died Aug. 20 at home. Her husband, Royal DeCota, died in 1980, and a daughter, Naomi Connallon, died in 1995. Surviving are a son, William DeCota of Old Bridge; a daughter; Diana Mills of Florida; a son-in-law, Donald Connallon Sr. of Keyport; a sister, Margaret Quackenbush of Ramsey; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. MARY C. WARWICK McDONNELL, 72, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Aug. 21 in Hackensack University Medical Center. Surviving are her husband, Francis McDonnell; two sons, Ronald of Parlin and Tyrone of Old Bridge; two daughters, Kimberly Pyne and Jacqueline McDonnell, both of Parlin; and five grandchildren. ANNA SCALCIONE, 22, of Old Bridge died Aug. 21. Surviving are her father, Gerard Scalcione Sr. of Old Bridge; her mother, Ramona Scalcione of Palataka, Fla.; two brothers, Gerard Scalcione Jr. of Lemour Naval Base in California and Nicholas, at home; a sister, Jessica, at home; her paternal grandmother, Amelia Scalcione of Jersey City; and her maternal grandmother, Wilhelmine Fust of the Toms River section of Dover. KAROL S. SIKORSKI, 75, of Old Bridge died Aug. 23 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Irene Krause Sikorski; three sons, Kenneth Sikorski of Old Bridge and Donald Sikorski and Robert Sikorski, both of Florida; a daughter, Deborah Sikorski of Florida; and five grandchildren. FAINA BUJEWICZ WERESOW, 92, of Old Bridge, formerly of Sayreville, died Aug. 25 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, Dymitry, died in 1985; a son, Nicholas, died in 1991; and another son, Joseph, died in 1996. Surviving are four sons, Mark of the Parlin section of Sayreville, Eugene and Dymitry, both of Edison, and Alex of Old Bridge; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A service is planned for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 29 at St. Euphrosynia Belarus Orthodox Church, South River. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
