’72 to hold 30th reunion

Sayreville High School class of 1972 will hold a 30-year reunion/homecoming weekend on Oct. 25 and 26.

Festivities will begin on Oct. 25 at the homecoming football game against Perth Amboy High School and will conclude with a dinner-dance on Oct. 26.

Vendors sought for

Monroe Country Fair

Vendors are sought for the Monroe Township Country Fair set for noon to 6 p.m. on Sept. 22 at Thompson Park, Perrineville Road. The event is sponsored by the Monroe Township Mother’s Club and the Monroe Township Recreation Department. Rain date is Sept. 29.

Entertainment will be provided all day. Admission is free.

Program will address

dangers of street drugs

The subject of dangerous street drugs widely available at raves (all-night parties frequented by some young people) will be addressed at a free one-day training program set for 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 12 at the Middlesex County Fire Academy, Sayreville.

The event, cosponsored by the Middlesex County Health Department, the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) of Middlesex County Inc., and the Middlesex County Municipal Alliance, will focus on Ecstasy, ketamine, GHB and other designer drugs.

Guest presenter will be Ron Dixon of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. Dixon has more than 34 years experience in law enforcement.

Lunch will be provided. Registration is required.

Willett Manor seeking vendors for fund-raiser

Vendors are sought for the yard sale, bake sale and raffle set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 21 at Willett Manor, 340 Whitehead Ave., South River.

Willett Manor, a National Church Residences facility, is a Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-subsidized senior housing facility. Proceeds from the fund-raiser will be used to purchase a new public address system for the community room.

Table rental is $15.
