Child safety awareness
to be topic at MOMTalk
East Brunswick police officers Mike Knoll and Bob Witting will discuss child safety awareness at the next meeting of MOMTalk, a parenting education and support group, set for 10 a.m. on Oct. 1 at East Brunswick Congregational Church, 402 New Brunswick Ave.
The officers will address the issues of "stranger danger" and what children can do if they find themselves in a potentially dangerous situation with a stranger. The presentation, which is aimed at both parents and children, will include a video and a question-and-answer period. Parents with children of all ages are welcome to attend.
MOMTalk meets from 10 a.m. to noon every Tuesday at the East Brunswick Congregational Church. Parents have the opportunity to participate in group conversation while their children play in the same carpeted room. Participants may drop in for any amount of the two-hour meeting.
The group encourages parents to connect, support, educate and empower each other and to provide resources and services to the community.
Upcoming events include an Oct. 8 outing to Johnson Park, Piscataway, and an Oct. 15 group discussion titled "Parenting Then and Now."
