Community Justice day scheduled at Rutgers U.

The public is invited to a Middlesex County Community Justice Partnership Day set for noon to 4 p.m. on Sept. 22 at the Rutgers University Busch Campus Student Center, Davidson Road, Piscataway.

Opening ceremonies will include an anniversary tribute to the victims of 9/11.

The event is sponsored by Rutgers University, the Middlesex County Chiefs of Police Association, the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office and the Middlesex County Community Justice Forum Committee.

Exhibitors will include county law enforcement agencies, human relations commissions, domestic violence services and civic and community organizations.

The event will offer displays of police, fire and rescue vehicles and DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) cars and trucks; child safety seat inspections; bicycle safety inspections; child safety fingerprinting; and representatives from the Army National Guard.

Breakout room topics will focus on careers in law enforcement information and recruitment, understanding municipal court, and citizens police academies. Rutgers Sexual Assault Services will offer a presentation.
