WALTER BIELAT of East Brunswick died Sept. 14 in The Medical Center at Princeton. Surviving are his wife, Emma Goettlich Bielat; and two brothers, Paul Bielat of Spotswood and John Bielat of Helmetta. Services were held at Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home, Milltown. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

HENRIETTA DANNENBERG, 88, of Milltown died Sept. 11 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Siegfried Dannenberg, died in 1984. Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie Berger of Milltown; a son, Steven Dannenberg of Virginia Beach, Va.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Graveside services were held at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus.

ARNOLD N. ABRAMSON, 71, of Monroe, formerly of East Brunswick and the Dayton section of South Brunswick, died Sept. 17 at home. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Rosenberg Abramson; a son, David of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick; three daughters, Linda Peger of Cranbury, Bonita Lisnay of Hewitt and Dina Botnick of Brick; and five grandchildren. Graveside services are planned for 10:45 a.m. on Sept. 19 in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin section of Woodbridge. ETHEL E. NICKERSON, 68, of Highland Park, formerly of Milltown, died Sept. 13 in Franklin Care Center, Franklin Park. Surviving are two daughters, Carol Guinee of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick and Connie Wright of Grapevine, Texas; a stepdaughter, Christine Kenney of Harvey Lake, Pa.; two sisters, Edith Brown of the Toms River section of Dover and Sandy Jardot of Etowa, N.C.; three brothers, Alfred Paul, Russell Paul of Boonton and Ralph Paul of Kearny; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. VALENTINO CARUSO, 79, of the Toms River section of Dover died Sept. 15 in Care One Center, East Brunswick. His wife, Sylvia Martini Caruso, died in 1990. Surviving are three sons, Randolph of Freehold, and Richard and Rory, both of East Brunswick; a special friend, Ruth Pruzyblyek of Toms River; a brother, John Caruso of Patchogue, N.Y.; four sisters, Josephine Cozzo of Brooklyn, N.Y., Lucille Segreto of Patchogue, Marie Bonjiardino and Ann Maritato, both of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.

THOMAS E. O’CONNOR, 73, of East Brunswick died Sept. 12 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Surviving are a brother, Arthur O’Connor of Virginia; a sister, Dorothy Hart of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover.

MARY ANN PERNICE, 73, of East Brunswick died Sept. 13 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, John Pernice; three daughters, Barbara Lemli, Judith Ann Crane and Deborah Klimcsak; and six grandchildren. HELEN HEDGES SICKNICK, 90, of the Toms River section of Dover, formerly of South River, died Sept. 10 in Community Medical Center, Toms River. Her husband, Harold Sicknick, died in 1978; a son, Harold G. Sicknick, died in 1989; and a grandson, Joseph Sicknick, died in 2001. Surviving are two sons, William of New Brunswick and Bruce, with whom she lived; a daughter-in-law. Claire Sicknick of South River; a brother, Steven Hedges of Edison; a sister, Verona Pachanski of the Fords section of Woodbridge; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South River. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.

VIOLET CIKACZ WARD, 89, of South River died Sept. 13 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her first husband, Martin Sawicki, died in 1948; her second husband, Joseph Sudowski, died in 1967; and her third husband, Leonard Ward, died in 1980. Surviving are a daughter, Carol Marie Petuskey; a granddaughter, Michelle McNeil; and a great-granddaughter. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.

ROBERT D. HALTON, 67, of Simpsonville, S.C., formerly of Old Bridge, died Sept. 10 in William B. Kessler Memorial Hospital, Hammonton. His wife, Lucienne, died in 2000. Surviving are a brother, John of Merrick, N.Y.; two sisters, Rosemary Brown of the Collings Lakes section of Buena Vista Township and Lorraine Nagy of East Brunswick; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia section of Woodbridge.

JOHN R. "PAPPY" RIGHETTI, 83, of East Brunswick died Sept. 10 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. A life member of East Brunswick Independent Fire Company, he was chief of the East Brunswick Fire Department in 1968. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth "Pat" Patrick Righetti; a daughter, Karen Bartol of East Brunswick; a sister, Vilma Nahai of Old Bridge; and two grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
