Vincent C. Staats Sr.
Retired electrician
   
HAMILTON — Vincent C. Staats Sr. died Monday at The Medical Center at Princeton. He was 84.
   Born in Belle Mead, he lived in Princeton from 1955 to 1985. He was a resident of Fort Myers, Fla. for 15 years before moving to Hamilton in 2000.
   He retired in 1980 from Educational Testing Service in Lawrence after six years. Previously he worked as an electrician at the Naval Air Turbine Test Station in West Trenton and prior to that at the Naval Air Station in Lakehurst.
   He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
   A member of Christ Congregation in Princeton since 1955, he served on the board of deacons, the board of trustees and as an usher.
   He was a member of the National Association of Federal Employees.
   He was a five-year volunteer at The Medial Center of Princeton and also coached Little League.
   An avid bowler, he was the first serviceman in World War II to bowl a perfect 300 score.
   Skilled in construction, he built two of his own homes.
   Predeceased by six brothers and sisters, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Audrey Smith Staats; sons and daughters-in-law Vincent C. Staats Jr. and Sarah H. Staats of Lawrence, James E. Staats and Jo Ann Ferraro of Belle Mead and Gregory L. Staats of West Windsor; and grandchildren Jonathan, Stephen, Adam and Jessica Ann.
   The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Christ Congregation, 50 Walnut Lane, Princeton.
   Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Middlebush.
   Visiting hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Congregation, 50 Walnut Lane, Princeton, NJ 08540 or the charity of the donor’s choice.

HARLEYSVILLE, Pa. — Robert "Bob" Moran died Thursday at home. He was 52.
   Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he earned a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University, a master’s in history from Yale University and a master’s in classics from the University of Pennsylvania. He was working on a doctorate under a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship at Princeton University at the time of his death.
   He was vice president of Mendax Group and an account manager at Dever Solutions Group.
   His interests included basketball and classical studies.
   He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Dorothy Moran of Toms River, wife Johan Moran of Harleysville; daughter Shannon Moran of Harleysville; and brothers Tom Moran of Arlington, Va., Bill Moran of Irvine, Calif., and Tim Moran of Princeton.
   Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Titus Church, Norriton Drive and Keenwood Avenue, Norristown, Pa.
   Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, Pa.
   Visiting hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today at Boyd-Horrox Funeral Home, 200 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown, Pa.

YARDLEY, Pa. — John C. Leypoldt died Sept. 12. He was 84.
   Born in Philadelphia, he was a Yardley resident over 40 years.
   He retired as director of photographic services at Princeton University’s Firestone Library after a 30-year career there.
   A transportation enthusiast — particularly cars and trains — his other interests included canoeing, camping, hiking, world travel and history.
   Husband of the late Elizabeth Leypoldt, he is survived by stepson Dick Kinzler of Doylestown, Pa.; brother William Leypoldt of Ocean City; grandchildren Kimberly Kinzler of Newtown, Pa., Richard Kinzler of Wayne, Pa., and Melissa Mullin of West Chester, Pa.; and two nephews.
