will hold Oct. 9 meeting
The East Brunswick Public Library Book Discussion Group will meet at 1 and 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 9 at the library, Jean Walling Civic Center.
Topic of discussion will be Motherland: Beyond the Holocaust — A Mother-Daughter Journey to Reclaim the Past by Fern Schumer Chapman.
All adults, whether regular, occasional or new members, are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.

VFW will honor former
officers at dinner-dance
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4589 and its Ladies Auxiliary will honor Past All-State Cmdr. Al Sessa and auxiliary Past President Barbara Rogers at a dinner-dance set for 7 p.m. to midnight on Oct. 12 at the post home, 33 Daniel Road, Spotswood.
The event will feature a buffet dinner, liquid refreshments and live music.
Donation is $25 per person.

wine, microbrew tasting
St. Peter the Apostle Schools HSAs, New Brunswick, will host their second annual Wine and Microbrew Tasting from 6-9 p.m. on Oct. 10 at the Holiday Inn, 195 Davidson Ave., Somerset section of Franklin.
