PATRICIA J. RUGG VILARDI, 64, of Middletown, formerly of Rumson, died Sept. 22 at home. She was a senior level contract analyst at level GS-13 at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Shadow Lake pet club. She was predeceased by her father, Kenneth Rugg. She is survived by her mother, Constance V. Oldham Rugg of Red Bank; three brothers, Kenneth Rugg of Florida, Gary Rugg of Texas, and James Rugg of Flemington; a son and daughter-in-law, Todd R. and Mary Jane Vilardi of Mantoloking; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" and Louis Schuff of Atlantic Highlands; and three grandsons. ALEXANDER ADESKAVITZ, 80, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Sept. 23 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in the New Monmouth section of Middletown, he was a lifelong Belford resident. He was a maintenance worker at Stoney Brook Apartments, Eatontown, for 20 years, retiring in 1992. He also worked on his family’s farm. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. He was predeceased by his wife, Carmella Adeskavitz, in 1992; and a brother, Michael Adeskavitz, in 1987. He is survived by his sister, Marion T. Grabowski of Belford; a brother, Stephen Adeskavitz of the Leonardo section of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews.

JOHN F. FEURY of Sayreville, formerly of Rumson and the Navesink section of Atlantic Highlands, died Aug. 7 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Prior to his retirement in 1981, he was the owner of Feury Antiques, Rumson. Prior to that, he owned a furniture stripping business in Middletown. Surviving are his wife, Adrienne B. Conway Feury; a brother, Eugene Feury of Middletown; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Entombment was in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, South Amboy.

MAE ROYAL PENLEY, 83, of Old Bridge died Aug. 6 in Bayshore Healthcare Center, Holmdel. Her husband, Raymond, died in 1970. Prior to her retirement in 1984, she was employed as a manager at 7-Eleven, Matawan. She was a volunteer at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division, for many years. Surviving are three sons, Raymond of Waldorf, Md., Henry of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge and George of Crescent City, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. ROGER JOSEPH CORMIER, 71, of Middletown died Oct. 2 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in New York City, he lived in Middletown for more than 40 years. He was an electrical engineer for Bell Labs and AT&T Labs for more than 40 years, where he was a distinguished member of technical staff. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Gillian Courtney Pratt-Cormier; a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur J. and Linda Cormier of San Diego; two daughters and a son-in-law, Diana Cormier of Laurence Harbor and Robin J. and James Fedorchak of Morganville; a brother Romae Joseph Cormier of DeKalb, Ill., and two grandchildren. Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.

JUDITH ANN FERM SPRINGER, 62, West Keansburg section of Hazlet died Oct. 2 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Kearny, Union Beach and Morgan prior to moving to West Keansburg 35 years ago. She was a school bus driver for Helfrich Bus, West Keansburg, retiring 1 1/2 years ago. Prior to that, she worked at various local bus companies for 24 years. She was a communicant of Belford United Methodist Church, Belford section of Middletown. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Ferm. She is survived by her husband, Robert "Red" Springer of West Keansburg; her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Barbara Springer of Howell; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lisa and Barry Matiez, and Bethann Springer, all of Hazlet; her brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Thomasine Ferm of New Egypt; her sister-in-law, Theresa Ferm of Florida; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was at Belford United Methodist Church. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Middletown. MARY M. MONAHAN GALLAGHER, 64, of Middletown died Oct. 1 at home. She was a clerical worker for Brown Brothers and Harrison, New York City, where she worked for 15 years, retiring in 1995. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved to Middletown in 1994. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was predeceased by her husband, Cornelius "Neil" Gallagher, in 1996 and by a brother, James Monahan, in 1987. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemary and Gregg Sorrentino of Hazlet, Kathleen and Ron Mongeau of Middletown, and Joan and Phil Powers of Middletown; a son, Neil Gallagher of Middletown; two brothers, Daniel Monahan of Middletown and Alphonse Monahan of Deer Park, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Church. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
