author to visit library

Meg Cabot, author of The Princess Diaries, will present a program at 7 p.m. on Nov. 6 at the East Brunswick Library, Jean Walling Civic Center. The event is open to families with children in fourth grade and up.

The author will discuss her most famous character, Mia Thermopolis, heroine of The Princess Diaries, which was made into a Disney movie last year. The Princess series continues with Princess in the Spotlight and with the heroine’s latest adventures, Princess in Love.

Cabot will autograph copies of her books after the presentation.

The program is free of charge, but each participant must have a ticket. Free tickets may be picked up at the library youth services desk.

Lunch and Learn

scheduled at temple

The Adult Education Program at Congregation Anshe Emeth of South River will sponsor a Lunch and Learn program with Rabbi Nathan Langer beginning at 9:45 a.m. on Oct. 26 at the temple, 88 Main St.

A Shabbat service will be followed by a bagel brunch and a discussion titled "Belief in the Impossible."

Registration deadline is Oct. 16.

County 4-H Teen Council

will host Haunted House

The Middlesex County 4-H Teen Council will sponsor a Haunted House from 6:30-10 p.m. on Oct. 18, 19, 25 and 26 at the Middlesex County Fairgrounds (next to the 4-H Center), Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.

Admission is $1. Proceeds will go to 4-H Project GIFT, a free day of holiday shopping for 100 Middlesex County families in need.

Butterfly lecture set for

Lawrence Brook event

The Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership Inc. will hold a dinner meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 15 at the South Brunswick Moose Lodge, Old Georges Road.

Guest speaker David P. Moskowitz will offer a presentation titled "Butterflies of New Jersey and the Monarch Butterfly Overwintering Sites in Mexico." A question-and-answer period will follow.

The Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership has environmental interests in the area including East Brunswick, Milltown, South Brunswick, North Brunswick and New Brunswick

Dinner is free of charge. There will be a cash bar.
