Oct. 24-27

• White Cane collection, sponsored by the Sayreville Lions Club, at ShopRite of Sayreville, Ernston Road. Proceeds benefit several Lions sight projects including a summer camp for blind children and programs for the visually impaired in the community.

Oct. 25

• Tricky tray, sponsored by the Middlesex County 4-H Association, doors open at 6 p.m., calling begins at 7:30 p.m., at the Middlesex County 4-H Log Cabin, Cranbury and Fern roads, East Brunswick. Prizes include an American Girl Doll; gift certificates to dinner theaters and bed and breakfasts; more than 200 table and special prizes. • Fish fry dinner, sponsored by North Brunswick-Milltown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2319, 5-8 p.m., at the post home, 45 Broad St., Milltown. Participants have a choice of broiled or fried fish. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children; add 50 cents for takeouts.

Oct. 26

• Square dance, sponsored by the Jewish Community Center of Congregation Anshe Emeth of South River, 8 p.m., at the temple, 88 Main St. A professional caller will call steps and instruct newcomers. Toys, household items, books, bikes, yard tools, etc. Proceeds benefit the schools’ tuition assistance fund for needy families.
