Family festival
Holy Cross Lutheran Church will hold its "Family Fun Fall Festival" beginning 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 280 Crosswicks Road, Bordentown Township.
Children may wear costumes as long as they are not evil or scary.
A night of hayrides, games, snacks, music and Christian fellowship. For information call 298-2880.
Silent auction
Chesterfield Elementary School will hold its annual gift and silent auction beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Chesterfield Elementary School, 295 Bordentown-Chesterfield Road.
Drawings will begin at 7:45 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes the first sheet of tickets. Refreshments will be available. For information call 324-0696.
Musical revue
The Ladies Auxiliary, Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085, presents "City Lights," 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 at the lodge, 11 Amboy Road, Bordentown. Dinner is served at 6:30, show starts at 8 p.m. For tickets and information call 499-2775.
Harvest moon ball
Widows and Widowers of Burlington County will hold its annual harvest moon ball from 6 to 11 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 3 at Holy Assumption McGrath Hall, Roebling.
Home-style buffet dinner at 6 p.m.; dancing begins at 7 p.m. Casual-country style attire (optional). Members $6, guests $7. For information call Patricia Balog at 499-3572.
Rosary society
The Roebling Holy Assumption Altar Rosary Society will meet Tuesday, Nov. 5. All women are invited. Novena devotions and the rosary will be said in the church on Hornberger Avenue at 7 p.m. with the meeting immediately following in McGrath Hall.

Guest author
New Jersey author Nancy Orlen Weber will be guest speaker 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8 at By the Book, 150 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown. She is the author of Psychic Detective and a member of International Women’s Writing Guild. Ms. Orlen Weber will sign for her newly published book, The Gift of Interspecies Communication, True Stories and Exercises for the Soul. For information call Arlene at 298-3334.
Craft show
The Friends of St. Mary’s School will hold a holiday craft show and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 at the school hall in Bordentown. For information and table reservations call Sue at 324-9082.
Bake sale
St. Mary’s Rosary Altar Society in Bordentown is holding a bake sale after all masses on Saturday, Nov. 9 and Sunday, Nov. 10.
Bus trip
The Knights of Columbus 570 is sponsoring a bus trip to the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City on Sunday, Nov. 10. Bus will leave 4:30 p.m. from St. Mary’s Church parking lot.
Four-hour stay at the casino will cost $15 per person with $14 back from the casino. For reservations call Bob at 298-5530.
Casino trip
The Ladies Auxiliary, Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085 is sponsoring a trip to the Showboat Casino on Sunday, Nov. 17.
Bus will leave the lodge, 11 Amboy Road, Bordentown, at 11 a.m. and will return approximately 7 p.m. Cost is $16 with $11 returned from the casino. For tickets call 499-2775 or 586-6119.
Book discussions
Book group will meet 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 to discuss Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, and Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein on Thursday, Nov. 21. Both discussions will be at By the Book, 150 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown. All are welcome.
Fashion show
The Holy Assumption School PTA of Roebling is having its annual fashion show on Friday, Nov. 22. The theme is "A Northwood’s Holiday."
Dinner, cocktails, prizes, and gifts. Special giveaways and 50/50.

Christmas bazaar
Trinity United Methodist Church is sponsoring its annual Christmas bazaar from 10 to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22; 10 to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23. Soup and sandwich luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday. Family-style roast beef dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Take-outs available. For dinner tickets call 298-5465 or 298-0158.
Quilts for kids
The Quilts For Kids program offers the exchange of fabric and drop off of finished quilts on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Directions and specifications are provided and quilts can be made at your own convenience. Only basic sewing skills are required.
This local program works with the Yardley, Pa. based non-profit Quilts For Kids group supplying quilts to children who have been abused and those undergoing chemotherapy. Quilts are machine-made from discontinued fabrics donated by the design industry.

Soroptimist club
The Soroptimist International Del-Val chapter is soliciting applications in a recognition program for women age 14 to 17 engaged in volunteer service within their communities or schools. Projects that benefit women or girls are especially valued. The award is an opportunity to honor a girl who might not otherwise receive recognition but is committed to making the world a better place. Class reunions
The Bordentown Regional High School Class of 1972 is having its 30th reunion on Nov. 29 at the Bordentown Yacht Club. The BRHS Class of 1971 will also participate in this reunion. For information call Joe Kelly, 298-3030.

Cookie dough
Holy Assumption School is selling tubs of cookie dough until Nov. 11 for delivery on Dec. 6. Available in chocolate chip, old fashioned sugar and oatmeal. Costs range from $10 to $12. Call 499-0045.
Clothing drive
St. Mary’s in Bordentown City is having a clothing drive until Nov. 12. Items that will be collected include, clothing, shoes and accessories (boots, handbags, belts, scarves, ties and hats), soft household items (bedding, curtains, tablecloths) and stuffed animals. Items can be dropped off at the convent next to the church. The school will make 10 cents per pound for the total weight of all the donations. Donations will be delivered to the Eastern Europe area.
