A support group of mothers in the East Brunswick and North/South Brunswick areas will sponsor a morning coffee for parents and guardians of special education students from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Nov. 12. Future coffees are set to take place once a month during the school year.
Topics will include upcoming special events, conferences and activities designed to support parents and to involve students in social situations.

A Winter Wonderland Tricky Tray will be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 8 at Corpus Christi School, 80 David St., South River.

Church to sponsor trip
to Devils hockey game
Trinity United Methodist Church, 70 Manalapan Road, Spotswood, will sponsor a Dec. 6 bus trip to see the New Jersey Devils hockey team play the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Continental Airlines Arena, East Rutherford. The bus will depart from the church parking lot at 5:30 p.m. Game time is 7:35 p.m.
Cost is $36 and includes game ticket, school bus transportation, tolls and parking. Game tickets only (for individuals who would like to go on their own) may be purchased for $26 each.
Order deadline is Nov. 24.

Brandeis women offers Holocaust discussion
The Middlesex County Chapter of the Brandeis University National Women’s Committee will offer a lecture titled "Saved From the Holocaust" at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 11 at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center.
Guest speaker Henry Frankel will tell the largely unknown story of the approximately 1,200 German children who were brought to the United States between 1934 and 1942. Frankel came to America by himself at the age of 7. The Brandeis University National Women’s Committee raises funds for the libraries at Brandeis University, Waltham, Mass. The township of East Brunswick is conducting its annual holiday food and gift basket program. Individuals, groups or organizations are sought to adopt needy families in East Brunswick and provide them with food and/or gift baskets for the Thanksgiving, Christmas and Hanukkah holidays. All adoptions will be kept strictly confidential. Gift certificates or gift cards from local grocery or department stores also may be purchased for distribution to those in need. ‘Monsoon Wedding’
to be shown at film fest
The fall international film festival at the Monroe Township Library, 4 Municipal Plaza, will continue on Nov. 13 with 2 and 7 p.m. screenings of the 2002 Indian musical Monsoon Wedding. Winner of the Golden Lion Best Picture award at the 2001 Venice Film Festival, the film tells the story of a young woman who, growing tired of waiting for her lover to get a divorce, agrees to an arranged marriage. Comedy ensues as the new couple gets to know each other, surrounded by family and friends with secrets of their own. Musical numbers highlight the story.
The movie, which will be shown in English, Hindi and Punjabi with English subtitles as needed, is rated R. Running time is 114 minutes. Tickets cost $1 and are available at the library. For more information, call (732) 521-5000.
Hanukkah Boutique
planned at S.R. temple
The Sisterhood of Congregation Anshe Emeth of South River will hold its annual Hanukkah Boutique from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 at the temple, 88 Main St. The event will feature menorahs, dreidels, chocolate gelt, collectibles, paper party goods and freshly prepared kosher pareve latkes.
