MILLTOWN — The Board of Education appointed a new member Oct. 21 to fill a vacancy created when Christine M. Rinaldi resigned from the board in September.
James L. Ferguson, a captain with the Franklin Township Police Department in Somerset County, was appointed and assigned by Board President Teri Shook to the board’s Finance and Negotiations Committee.
Ferguson, a Milltown resident for the past 15 years, has a wife, Jean, and three daughters — Jillian, a first-grader at Parkview School; Julie, a seventh-grader at Joyce Kilmer School; and Jessica, a junior at Spotswood High School.
During his 18-year career in law enforcement, Ferguson, a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va., has served as supervisor of DARE and community relations programs, according to a press release from Milltown’s school administrative office.
Rinaldi resigned due to her family’s relocation, school officials said.
