Milton Lichaw, 81, died Friday, Dec. 27, at the Merwick Unit of the Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Levittown, Long Island for 33 years before moving to Rossmoor in 1987. At Rossmoor, he was active in the Woodworking Club. He attended the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and Hofstra University in Long Island before receiving a computer engineering degree from the State University of New York, Farmingdale. He was employed at the Gruman Aircraft Corporation in Farmingdale for 30 years where he was involved in the development of the lunar space module, which carried astronauts into space. He also founded the Gruman Magic Club. Mr. Lichaw served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Lichaw; three daughters, Jacqueline Rosner of Calif., Natalie Rubenstein of East Meadow, N.Y., and Suzanne Krupskas of Princeton; a brother, Richard of Lake Success, N.Y., and three grandchildren, Jennifer and Shaun Rosner and Andrew Rubenstein.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 29, at M. David DeMarco Funeral Home in Monroe. Rabbi Murray Garber officiated. Interment followed in Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Queens, N.Y.
