Milton Shapanka

   Milton Shapanka, 80, of Monroe, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, at New York University Medical Center in Manhattan, N.Y.
   Born in Jamesburg, Mr. Shapanka lived there until moving first to East Brunswick and then to Monroe three years ago. He was the owner and operator of JASCO Heating and Air-Conditioning Company, in Jamesburg. Mr. Shapanka never retired. For many years he served the Jamesburg Rescue Squad as its captain. He had been a member of the Princeton Rotary Club for many years and was active in the Jamesburg Lions Club for over 30 years. During World War II, he had served as a civilian airplane mechanic at Hickam Field, located at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii.
   He is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Susan Cram and Dayna Selenko, both of New Jersey; Marjorie Wood of Vermont; Glen Shapanka of Florida; Evan Levine of California and Karin Levine of New York and 10 grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 27, at the Crabiel Home for Funerals with Rabbi William Krauss of Knesset Israel Synogogue of Bound Brook officiating. Cremation was private.
